Well guys, as some of you know, I changed plans about doing a swap. Since I already have the Supra and have plans to pretty it up, it would be a waste to try to make the Celica fast by swapping another engine and manual tranny in. So what I want to do is get another 7A-FE installed, put all the turbo stuff in there but leave it low boost...and leave the automatic tranny...works fine when boosting and the car is just for cruising. Then, I can get forged rods and pistons for the original engine that has a bad piston in it. That way, I'll have something ready to rock if I ever break the other one. I'm trying to go to Puerto Rico in December 30, so I have plenty of time to source the engine, get it shipped home and have a buddy of mine pull out the broke original one and install this one. I leartned a lot of mistakes from the setup and plan to open a post with my experiences. I already did a topic like this, but I want to start another one. Anyway, I need a 7A-FE in perfect running condition. I'm willing to do a cool trade and money or whatever so I can get that engine sent home...should be like $200 shipping. It's easier to source it here than to try to find one in the Puerto Rico forums...people with Corollas are not willing to pull the engine out for me.
Anyway, I think this plan will save me a lot of money and makes a lot of sense. What do you guys think? -------------------- |

if i had a supra, i would take a sledge hammer to my celica for being such a disgrace to import tuning. just kidding i'd probably light it on fire, swinging a sledge gets old after a while.

OOBE... you know how it is with cars....youll never be happy with low boost, especially when you drive around in a high hp supra. either swap the original eninge in and just cruise around in the car, or go all out and do a 3sgte swap so that you dont have to worry about blowing your engine at stock boost.

I like sccelica's idea! It's fun to have two cars...one for cruising and one for speed. I used my Rex for speed and Eclipse for cruising for a long time. Now I just have two AWD booster cars.

I was thinking of that, but I want the Celi to be boosted...it's more pimp points, hehe. Somebody already wrote me offering me a 7A-FE for dirt cheap...75,000 miles and only $175 plus shipping. I gotta find out how much the shipping will be.
