Even tho I've owned the car for maybe 6 months. Nothing wrong with the car either. But I just don't wanna hasle with the importing of a gt-4 engine for 6g's.

I am thinking of buying a nice mint condition Eagle Talon TSi AWD nearby(Has 90k miles). I do have to give it too the talon tho. It has some nice curves like the celi.

Or I put my hands on a giant "sleeper". Very rare car called Galant VR-4. The things look like a the biggest pos, but can take a damn STi.

Only thing I need to do is learn more about the turbo so I can take care of the car properly

Link to the car is here: Talon TSi AWD

DSM's are nice cars, but seem to have more problems then a Celica would. The Galant VR-4 is the same engine, tranny as the TSi AWD. The first one I ever saw was at Nopi in St Louis a few years back. Running 11's. Pretty impressive for a 4 door.

Out of the two cars you listed, I'd definitely go with the Galant VR-4. They're fairly common around here, but not near as bad as the Eclipses and Talons. There are a few of them around here, one of which ran a 12-something(can't remember) last year, but it was beating a Viper and a bunch of other cars.

That said, expect at least some problems with either of those cars. Both have histories of poor reliability and many problems. I know a few people with DSMs, and all of them continually have problems(or have given up on their cars completely.)

They are/ can be very fast cars, but would not be very good cars as being dailey drivers... such as not being reliable....

great cars! i plan to own some from of dsm one day. just remember that the more power you make, then more stuff will break. little stuff will need to be fixed here or there, so as long as you do your own work on it, youll be in great shape.

do some reasearch on crankwalk. 95 was a very common year for that, so know what to watch out for, before you buy the car.

Put it this way, yes u can get them fast, for 1 time. Then you fix it. Then race it again, then fix it, then race it again, then fix it.

See, patterns are fun.

Ya well in 2 days I am going to check it out. I am already posting in the dsm forums. They all know about crank-walk too. What most of them are saying is
QUOTE
just turn left with the clutch in and try and slip it a little, if it gets stuck or just acts really weird, then crankwalk is in. If not then its still good, simple as that.

So that is what I am going to look for.

Could someone explain crankwalking a lot more detailed for some of us?

My friends 91 Eclipse GS-t has broken down so many times its rediculous.... its running fine now but something breaks every week. We've taken the tranny out of his car 6 times (including replacing the actual tranny). Just fare warning DSM's are **** cars if they are not taken care of like baby's.
