Hey All I got my soundsystem hooked up today and OMG is all I can say!! I'll have pics tommorow night and incase ya wondered I have 2 12" Audiobahn AW1206T (2200 watts max each) and the Audiobahn A1500HCT amp (2000x1 watts) and I would recomend this system is worth the money if you've got it to spare. The amp retails at $950 (audio-warehouse.com) and each subs at $300... that's like $1550 total plus shipping and tax.. if you'd like this set up or similar I can help as posted on the Sale forum.. This setup can be acquired from me for $900 mayb a lil cheaper. Email me or post me. Later All!!!
Dustin

yeah max watts doesn't mean ****. you can find tin can computer speakers with advertising that will say 500W, and in reality they are like 5 watss rms. Always list RMS, and when you buy and amp, etc always look for the rms.

that setup would be VERY loud, and yes you might want to upgrade the door speakers because the bass will drone out the rest... i would know wink.gif this is something im looking into doing very soon, oh yea and with all that power... get a capacitor

He's not at anywhere near the power he needs for a cap, he's listing max, not RMS. RMS he's probably not over 700 (real) Ws yet

And even if he did have tons of power, a cap isn't a good solution to the problem. Upgrading the big three is always best. smile.gif

Coomer, a cap is an excellent idea for anyone with bass, do you understand what it does ? It stores energy, then when needed it releases giving the system more power, and helping it from drain. Like a camera, it stores the energy and then releases it so it has a more powerful flash. Not only does it help, it in many cases when drawing so much power saves the alternator. I'm sure you've seen many people's lights dim when their bass hits, this is why a cap is a very good idea.

I'm still waiting on pics, hook us up!

Caps are like a band-aid though. They don't solve the problem of not having enough power, but rather just hide it by storing energy. I've read about situations where caps actually have damaged electrical systems.

That's why most very knowledgable installers and car audio enthusiasts will stay away from caps and simply upgrade the wiring, battery, and alternator instead. wink.gif

They aren't a bandaid at all. For people in competitions, absolutly they aren't what you're looking for. But for people with a couple subs thats exactly what they are there for. Not the most knowedgeable and expereinced, it depends on application. Even with 4 gauge wiring people can benefit ffrom a cap. Most people don't want to pay for an expensive alternator and battery, like I said. For those with the money into their system however, absolutly. But to say someone with a couple subs shoulod be 0 gauge wiring, a expensive battery and alternator to power their couple subs, I disagree 100%.
Like I said, not a band-aid, just depends on application. Does that mean camera's should get better batteries because a cap to power the flash is hurting the camera? I think not. Caps merely store more energy to help when needed, drain it out and then store more. If you're system is that badass though, I agree they could hinder not help.

I have to disagree with you... One of the main reason installers and competitors are heading more and more in the the upgrade of the alternator and battery is because of the introduction of the HC amps. High Current amplifiers are rated as regular amplifiers but the more energy you give them them more power they reproduce. I have 5 HC amplifiers.
4 Audio Art 50HC
1 Audio Art 100HC.
My installation consisted of 3 of the 50HC and the 100HC for bass. I was competing at the 250 watts range but because of the HC amps and the way I installed the system I was pushing over 1000 watts. I magine how the people with 250 watts MOSFET amps felt like ... biggrin.gif

By the way, I upgraded the battery and used 5 capacitors for immediate release of power when needed. it worked like a charm... wink.gif

Because I'm letting you know Audiobahn overrates their subs? and we've told u before that max watts isn't a way to rate your subs

I dont think that the argument on wattage is worth the time...
Sound quality and level should be the topic of discussion. I have seen Audio systems with low wattage that sounds 20 times better than systems with higher wattage.

I seen systems with 1000Watts + than sounds like $hit

Dont worry if your system/ subs/ amps are 1000watts plus.. worry about how it sounds and that everything is properly installed. wink.gif

Congratulations and good luck on your system...

Hide or run the wires a little more together; I think blue carpeting would make it look very nice

audiobahn flame q's are tight...it doesn't take much power to make those subs hit...my gf has one in her c230 runnin on a 250w amp and sucker hits hard...but it all depends on the setup...im thinking of getting infinity kappa components cause they're cheap but are good quality...what other brands are affordable but dont sound like s***.
