they have a3s-gte engine clip with a 5speed AWD tranny would that work... i didnt htink it would but i want to make sure

nope, you need a FWD tranny from a MR-2 or a JDM SS-III

umm the awd will work. and the mr2 is rwd. and your jdm ss-III is also awd. sorry but facts are facts.

shady, here are the facts.. the AWD WILL NOT work. JDM ss-III is NOT AWD...

sorry but you are totally wrong on that. you cant use the awd tranny, if you do youll just get 50% of the power. the mr2 tranny will work in your fwd car, so will the 3sge (ssIII) tranny. you can also use a celica GT tranny. -------------------- 15PSI - 30MPG - Megasquirt Tuned

 The SS-III is the way to go because it's Much stronger than the GT tranny which is More than prone to going to pieces under 3s power. That is why you get the tranny that the rather beasty Beams 2.0L 3sge 195hp engine came with Circa the SS-III;) Also, the MR2 tranny is in the back making it RWD, but that doesn't necessarily make it a RWD tranny. I believe you Do have to get extended shift linkage, but it works quite well with the celica 3s swap. It works EXCEEDINGLY well in some rare cases where the lucky sole got a MR2 tranny equipped with a Stock LSD. SO, if you want, get a 93+ MR2 tranny with the LSD. It's the most performance oriented.
