i don't know what the problem is... ive changed the bulbs and still dont come on, the bulbs are not bad... the light some time flicker on and off when i back up but then turns off most of the time there off..... has this happend to you guys before? i know its not the bulb.. don't know what eles to do.. HELP please.. thanks guys

there is a swtich i believe in the tranny somewhere that make the reverse lights go on i'm not sure if it's easily accesible

i guess im not the only one... but we still havent fixed the problem yet... i don't think it matters if its stick or auto.

i changed my fuse and got new bulbs.. they dont light up.. i even checked the wiring.. weirdness.. i guess its a common Celica problem??

Ya its most likely the switch on your tranny, if its not the bulbs that is. I had that prob on my first car and just had the switch replaced

i finally got the problem fixed... it was the switch on the tranny.. its next to the tranny ground. the part cost was a little over 30.00 bucks and all i had to do was unbolt it and put the new one in. real easy. to test if its the switch use a jumper wire to to activate the the lights on the plug. than put it in reverse, if it goes on than its the switch. hope this helps.

dang i lost the number... but just ask them, thay should know wat it is tell them i need the back up light switch for the tranny.

The switch I believe is call a "neutral switch", but i don't know what the part # is..... sorry frown.gif
