This is a question to all of those with bodykits who live up north- what do you do in winter? Especially if your Celica is your only car....how do you manage with a kit during winter and what seems to work best? i.e.- How hard is it, what is it like...etc. Thanks.

drive and cringe anytime there is somethign in the road.
do not go out on heavy nights. drive slow anywhere there is a hill by the road. and most important, put some support behind it(if lip kit) and plow the driveway quickly -------------------- ![]() |

Can't most of you guys just take off the front lip?? I heard that a lot of the erebuni lips are just snap on??
Im saying that cuz I want the 404a lip and I plan on just snapping it off in the winter and replacing it with the stock lip, is that possible!?!?!? ![]() This post has been edited by Mike: Nov 10, 2004 - 12:07 PM -------------------- ![]() |

yes, the 404A can be a snap on accesory...that's how i had mine.
the main problem i saw was that during summertime i'd get real close to scratching or bottoming out, but in winter...there was no Close, you could hear snow being moved, or ice bending the kit some -------------------- ![]() |

than why didn't you just snap it off and put the stock lip back on in the winter? -------------------- ![]() |

Yeah, you're right. but it would suck worse for me if I had an SUV because SUV's are 1000000000 times mor likely to get involved in an accident in bad weather. ![]() -------------------- ![]() |

yep. SUV's = high center of gravity = a tonne of forward momentum when breaking = SUV drivers becoming intimatley aquainted with large metal poles -------------------- ![]() |

I was gunna say, my celi rocked hard-core in the snow. but i dont have a kit at all. I hate it when everyone with an suv goes out an drives like asses when it snows a lil bit.. it sucks..

oh get coilovers, and you have an invader or what?....anyways go get BODYFILLER WITH FIBERGLASS HAIRS,shorter hair is better because it will provide more strength you take it and lay it inside the bottom lip cause it will take the bottom of the kit hard as a rock i did that and i've hit driveways srapping since i'm so low do it and you won't regret it

Thanks for all the info guys.
Im still torn if I want to mount a kit or not....I love the way certain kits look, its just that I'm worried because the Celica is my only car and I've been through the "owning another car" thing with my parents and its not happening....at least for now. I actually saw a nice silver 96+ Hatch with a 404a kit and Supra wing today at my College. It really doesn't look terribly low, so I might consider that route. Oh, and a good set of coilovers. -------------------- 3rd gen ST205 3SGTE - Alive and boosting. |

you don't even need coilovers.
Just take off the front lip when the snow hits put t back on in the spring... its simple ![]() -------------------- ![]() |
