lol, muahaha. okay in lamen's terms some one hooked up a router to their basic lan port (im asuming he lives in a college of some sort ) and it sorts thru every computer on the connection and... mmm it can cause some havoc.... u cant find out who... maybe u can get an ip address cuz routers need ip addresses as well... but you have 999 guess's to guess.

Im not sure how he can use a simple router get other people's ips unless they are on the same network... but if he is somehow, you could download an incoming ip tracing program, and see if you can get his ip. then take that ip and use an ip location program to get his longitude and latitude to the .0001 second.

Dude.. Look at your router's log.. See who's computer is renewing the IP's most frequently. Or if you can, associate a static ip for specific mac addresses.. That way, if he/she wants to change the ip again, they will need a new nic.

Like I said, look at the DHCP logs.. It will tell you who used what and such.. And backward trace it..

something you could do is get a rounter (if you dont already have one) and use it between your computer and the connection, get one with the latest firewall etc and set is so that only your ip can access it befor you plug it into the outside line.
but yeah it will show up in the DHCP logs IF it is set to log them. -------------------- ![]() |
