Ok well ive decided to purchase a second car for track/ weekend driving. I would only have liabilty insurance so my costs will be low. Dont worry the celica is still getting ssiii lips, rims, and coilovers and it will stay my dailydriver. biggrin.gif

Anyway my car options im looking at now with their motor swaps:

Nissan 240sx 89-91 (sr20)
Mazda FD -95 (13b)
Mazda FC 90-92
Mazda Miata 93-97 (Turbo kit)
Toyota Celica 94-99 biggrin.gif (3sgte)
Toyota MR2 91-95 (3sgte)

All of these cars have possibilities for upgrades on suspension/motor work.
All the cars i mentioned are RWD cept for the Celica. I would buy the car for around 500 most likely in very poor condiditon, strip the interior and do a motor swap. Install roll cage, racing seats/ harnesses, stage 2 clutch kit/ lightend flywheel, coilovers, wider rims, etc. etc.

I would just like to hear your guys opinions on my car choices and hear what you have to say,

--Scott

My first weekend/track car was an 87 RX7 (FC). My second was a 94 Celica ST... my currents... an AE86 Corolla and a 91 MR2. You should start with something you'd be familiar with. I personally wouldn't go Celica because you would be better off just modding your current car... That... and FR layouts are more worthwhile in terms of fun factor... =]

yeah thats what i was thinking with the RWD i would have more fun screwing around with it.

and well i guess im most familiar with an FD but i realy dont want to run the risk of blowing the 13b every month. Unless i did a 2jz or LS1 swap but that would run around 8gs which isnt worth it.

miatas are fun cars to drive around my friends mom has one that is a manual and i learned stick on it. but again you do get taht title of being a fag when u drive it around on the street. rolleyes.gif

MR2 hands down, no better weekend racer than a low budget MR turbo sportscar, not to mention the t-tops gets all the chicks smile.gif
