Well i'm redoing this post because I think I was over critical in the previous one.
PMR on MTV did a 240SX this past weekend. I just watched the rerun of it. From its previous state to now, it looks hella-better. I'm NOT fond of the contrast colors. Either all orange or all green. But not both. The Mirrors and Wing in contrast hurt, but otherwise, the car looks alot better. Ironic story here... I went searching for pictures of this car on the net via Google. I came across 2 or 3 nissans forums talking about the upcoming show. After a few reads, I stumbled onto www.nicoclub.com. And behold, what did I find except the owner of this 240. His screen name is BrokeAs240SX, which now might need a change. The kid is very nice and humble for recieving such a gift along with fame time on TV. I'm gonna tell him about the site and maybe he'll stop by for a one-off post or two. Heres some pics. As I said, PMR could have over riced this car really bad, but I dont think they did that. His interior and trunk are mint along with the actual nice outside green color. Even though I think he likes orange. smile.gif

after talking to him I found out

His interior was "too nice" for pimp my ride. So he had to trash it out. Take out a seat. Throw sh.t in the back. Etc Etc Etc.

His interior was pimp before. He told me he wasn't happy about this. He did a full tan to black conversion on the inside. Then they painted it silver. [hits head with hand].

Weak i know.

With all that money, they could've at least done a manual tranny swap.

Or better yet, can anyone say SR20DET?

I think the reason he's smiling is cause he's going to most likely take it apart & put it back to how it was & then sell the mtv shyt for some real mods.

You think they gave him all the stuff they took off?? cause that would be kinda f-ed up if they got rid of it.

Thats also so sad, i cant get over it, I would never let them touch my car let alone pay them. This show is the worst advertisement for there company ever.

From what he told me he doesn't get any of the parts back. He asked and asked as was able to keep his hood, but his old kit, viper alarm, sony deck, MOMO seats as seen in the before pics, etc etc etc is now MTV's. And to answer the eBay question, he had to sign a contract saying he cannot sell the car.

I find it so funny that MTV makes you trash your car. As seen in the pics above. He has 4 rims, not 2 and 2 steelies as the show had. He has 2 seats, not one with a bunch of stuff thrown' everywhere as the show had. He has alot of performance parts under the hood. Ironic how he didn't have those until the show was over. Hummmm. And i'm sure he can sell it down the road, but I bet its for quite some time.

The cleanest thing Ive seen them do on that show was a volks mini bus, I would have drove it for sure!

The worst has to be that, and then there is the escort they turned into a beemer rolleyes.gif

the point of the show is to go over the top with the cars. The only good one ive seen is when they did that VW bus, or the one when they just gave up and gave the guy a new Scion Xb.

yea I liked the VW Bus because they took it back to stock. The Tv was cool but the wet clothes dryer? and the retractable surf board holder is well... odd. But I liked it. I also liked the Scion Xb. That was the nicest vehicle they've ever ended up with.

As for the selling part. I have seen three diff ones for sale on e-bay alredy. But maybe they had to keep it for a year, an by the time the show comes out on air, its been a year. I dunno.. I would be pissed.

i would insure it for a crap load then, then have some of my friends run it over with their lifted trucks

then as it gets towed away, spray paint F*CK MTV all over it, take pics and mail them to MTV.

hmm... definetly a lil over the top for my taste... The problem with the show is EVERYBODY AND THEIR MOM is going to recognize your car from the show, know about all the expensive electronics, and in turn want to jack everything they can out of the car... you could never use the car as a daily driver again...

--------------------
Car #3: 98 Accord LX- purchased 5/06, totaled 8/06
Car #2: 95 Celica GT- purchased 8/03, current daily driver
Car #1: 01 Focus ZX3- purchased 5/01, sold 8/03

what kills me is when they showed them installing the hood they just bondoed the scoops down and didnt cut a hole for the air flow. And whats with all the white people on that show having thugged out names thumbsdown.gif cwm13.gif

Plus why would that kid even buy an AUTOMATIC 240 they are worthless.

But on another note I knew smelled bullsh*t cause every car they do is a piece but teh kid lives in a nice neighborhood liek the dude with teh acura legend. who teh **** drives with chains holdign teh hood and no bumper when his house clearly is quite nice from the outside? redface.gif

EDIT SORRY FOR THE SPEELING ERRORS I BLACKED OUT ABOUT 30 MINUTES AGO AND I HVENT QUITE GOT BACK TO NORMAL.

The guys on that show just try to show off all they can do. To bad they don't have any talent. More poeple who like the real sports car nead to stand up and be heard. I loved that car before they did anything to it. Ugly, and fast. I'd buy a automatic 240 if that's all I could find or it was cheap. You can always change it over, so I don't think it's right to hold it agaist this guy. He did own a 240 and not a caviler.

the wasted a perfectly good 240, makes me sad. That thing is nasty looking, I would strip it for parts, sell them all over and fix it up right, kinda funny, why dont they do anything to the motor's, all they said they got for it was a dressup kit, who cares about that, they could have made it something real nice, but no.

added note:
They where all making fun of him for using duble stick tape, wile it was all falling off and crap, I though that dubble stick tape was the most common used, and best alternitive to molding on the kit. what are they talking about.

i dont know if you guys have ever heard of a thing called contrast, but it works well in most artistic applications, its especially trendy in fashion right now..

the green and orange contrast each other

while i would not aspire for my car to look like that, for free, id take it.

also, i consider RICE to be something like his car before, where nothing is right, its all ghetto rigged, etc..

if its done WELL i do not consider it rice, merely untasteful in my own opinion.

i think you all need to lay off the car, chances are if your ride got pimped and it looked like that, you wouldnt really complain
