I don't know why but i have been waiting for this remake for a while now. Ever since i heard that Johnny Depp was going to play Willy Wonka (that the 1st i heard of the remake, NOT EXCITED b/c of Johnny Depp. Well i just caught the trailor on Yahoo and it looks pretty crazy. Still follows the same story of the old original just newer cooler stuff biggrin.gif . But one thing i noticed is that this new one is going to be called Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. For a second i thought it was going to be a part 2 and Charlie was now giving it away the factory like Willy Wonka did. So anyone know whats up with that little change? Kinda gives away the ending don't you think?

David

i think the original book by Roald Dahl was called "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" and it was changed to "Willy Wonka ad..." for the old version. I guess this one is just going back to the original.

Na I dont think the new title gives away the ending tongue.gif

I wanna see it & I love the fact the Johnny Depp is in it!!! I have always loved his movies (not because of Pirates, but damn he does look good in that movie wink.gif) Anyway I had heard a rumor when talk about the remake first came around that they were deciding between Johnny Depp & Nicholas Cage. I think personality wise Johnny makes a better Willy Wonka for sure. He is weird enough for the part lol

I think Johnny Depp looks like a girl for a sec in the trailor but whatever u most like him a lot. But yeah he is WAY better pick than Nicholas Cage.

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is the originalname and they just went back to using it. What I was told by my manager at the theatre who is a total movie geek.

I would have rather seen Depp play Charlie and the Factory and stuff be in more modern times..

I wouldnt classify this as a remake because it follows the book ALOT more than the other one did. The other one was pretty happy like with a happy ending. Quite frankly, the book (so i've heard) is pretty twisted. The Oompa Loompas are not these jolly little people but really kinda sick. This isnt going to be what we all remember the old one as.

In addition, im disappointed that Tim Burton is doing it, i dont like his work.

ok, I for one hope they don't kill a classic movie. The trailor... Sucked. Johnny is a really cool guy, and could be a great Wonka. It looks like they are making him over act the part though. The chewing gum part in the trailor was the only gene Wilder ish part I saw...
