I've been working out lately trying to lose weight. I've lost 15lbs and kept it off for over a month now. But I want to get back into my basketball routine to speed up the process of fat burning and allow the muscle mass i'm putting on to show better. And after 15 mins i'm totally winded and really can't do anything as well as when I was playing basketball when I was in school. My 7th grade self would kill me right now. I probably could get another 8" higher than I'm doing right now, in junior high I almost dunked it jumping from the free-throw line. I was 6'3" in jr. high, i'm 6'4" now but i was in shape and weighed 30lbs less than I do now. But i'm on the track again and hopefully i'll get myself in better shape. I am stronger now then I was then but my stamina sucks totally. I'll be running strong again in a month if I keep this up everyday. Alright gotta go back out and get my self tired again. LAter

i jogged for 10-15 mins for awhile but that wont build the muscles like what I'm doing now. I have one exercise that i just jump straight up hit toes and bounce back up for a straight minute and that works the calves like crazy. I was more exhausted out of the first 5 mins I my basketball workout than the 15 mins of jogging. It will be worth it when I get my stamina back and I can see the wieght start going off. But now I need a shower and to relax alittle bit. Thanks for the advice though

I'm 6'4" 195 right now, so y'all know. Used to play on teams I could still smoke alot of ppl but when I was in Jr. high I could beat ppl playing on our high school team, so I want to get back to my athlete body. Which will take sometime 'cause thats alot of working out to get back to that. But I'm doing weight training now which I didnt do back then so that should help me develop nicely. But I feel really good now after working out. Gotta love the feeling after using all your muscles.

My junior high self would kick my ass too.....

But thats because I use ta be bigger and buffer... I was in soccer 8 years as a goalie and I was one of the toughest poeple on the team. Back then, ( I was like 13, 14) you wouldn't wana mess with me cuz I would litterally take poeple outa the games....

And well now... I lost about 20, 25 pounds and became just real tiny... Back in the day my bulky self definetly woulda stomped me. But that was a couple years ago so yea... Stopped eating so my muscle went away and I became more toned down.

I'm about 5'8" or maybe 5'9" and 165 lbs. I was in such better shape back when I played hockey for years and years, and I wish I was still in shape like that again. But in the spring I plan to ride my bike on a daily basis like I used to do in Bellingham to get some exercise and get back into shape somewhat.

YEAH!!! It's coming back. Finally getting my shoot back. Yesterday started nailing the threes again. Went out today to do some routine stuff. & shoot some free throws, ripped the first 4 missed the fifth and ripped a few more. Starting to get my long range jumper back, I shoot it about two feet behind NBA three. Just need to get my endurance back, build my calves up to jump higher, and get alittle more precision on my shooting back. Wont be satisfactory till I shoot atleast 9 out of 10 at the line and 5 out of 6 behind the 3pt. My junior high self would still beat me but atleast now I could put up a slight fight. When I get back to dunking/precision shooting. I'll play against my friends brother and other senior basketball players, and try to walk on next season. We'll see...

weight lifting can make you get stamina, muscle and toning all in one. I wish i didnt stop lifting after going into college or else i would have been at that stage where you can go out and do any activity without getting winded. I might try to get back at the lifting once my break is up but warning to those who rarly Run/Jog then try it again. i went running about a week ago with new running shoes and after the second day i was developing shin splints so now i cant run at all for a least three weeks (these workouts were only 15 minutes long as well.) Proper shock absorbing shoes is a must and try not to run on roads cause they are to hard for your lower legs. The best place to start running is either in water or on a dirt trail somthing that is soft on the legs but allows you push yourself without worrying about getting shin splints. Remember this or you could end up like me not running at all.

I am between 5'8" and 5'9" 140 pounds. I am not sure if i can still touch the rim, but i could about a year ago. If i went out and exersied for a week or so i could probly do it again. Oh, and 4 mins 55 secs is my record mile. 5 mins average.

I need to work out, and start living healthier...I'm really tall, so my weight balances out, but I'm still too big...I'd like to lose 20-30lbs...

Maybe I'll set a goal for the spring to give up soft drinks, drink more water, eat more meals at home, and try to work out.

I'm still in high school and I've been workin out for the past 5-6 months after not doing **** for a year. I was in a lot better shape back in the day when I played football, but I'm bigger and stronger now. I'd like to get back to the tone I had back then but still get stronger. I'm 5' 9" right now though so I'm hoping to grow a little bit soon, I'd be happy with 2-3 inches smile.gif

4:49 in the mile as a junior. In the 800 I was city, conference and regional champ. Second at sectionals. Blew at state through. I had strep throat and choked big time. Then I was too cool to run track senior year. heheh. But yeah- beat that kwanza

I play a bit. It's not an exclusive sport for me, but I do play pretty often. I was thinking about playing last newyear... but didn't... I usually always do basketball tournies and such.
