I just got the Xenon CyberWhite headlights from walmart today. I got it for 16.88 + tax. I installed it in like 5 minutes. The when I turn it on hoping for a really white shine, it turns out to be yellow exactly like the stock ones. The bulbs were 9006 55w Xenon bulbs. What is the proper wattage for our cars and can anyone reccommend a bulb with a silver star white.

Is it my lens or is it the bulb? I was surprised my original bulbs were sylvania.

I was going to buy eurolight bulbs last weekend but the guy selling it to me said that it might last from 3 months to a year depending on my car.

I have Sylvania SilverStars. They are a dramatic change in light color. You can see the road so much better and they are a brilliant white color with a hint of purple. The poor mans HID for 40 bucks....I only got the low beams. I dont really see a point to putting on the hi beams for styling

Do you think I can still return them if they are already opened?

I rather get my money back and invest in some PIAA Extreme
whites

http://www.nopionline.com/nopistore/dsp_pa...20Celica%201997

Good Investment? Or too high of wattage?

sliverstars ARE the best comapred to anything in their price range... nearly pure white, the bulb itself has a slight blue/purple tint to it... very nice- and you can see my profile for a pic. I have His and Los...

There's no such thing as "which wattage is best" you can only get the wattage for our cars, and the bulbs meant for our cars.

SilverStars.

I just put Silverstars on mine as well. Like the bright white look. Only concern is that on Sylvania's website, it says the Silverstars only last around a year under "normal" use. confused.gif Has anyone had them for longer than that?

I just bought some SilverStars at wall mart. I installed them but have not driven them. What scares me is that even the lightest blue tint kill my eyes even when it's from my own lights and when I am driving I don't have the option to look away.

Anyway, Anybody try the Wagner BrightLight bulbs.
They are advertised with the same 4000K color temperature but they have no blue coating on the glass. I want white light but no blue.

Thanks

Edit: Sorry for infighting this old thread. It was the closest to what I was searching for and I did not notice the dates and I did not want to start a new thread.

lil tip for you guys cause im an idiot... I have SilverStars in all 4 head lights, and since when you open the drivers door after the car is turned off the lights go off i leave mine on all the time... umm apparently that's not such a good idea... i blew out both my headlights last week, and since sliverstars aren't exactly the cheapest i think i'll try not to make this a habit wink.gif. ahhhh stupid Tina, i know.

I still do that with my projectors and doesn't blow my $85 hyper white PIAA's Maybe i shouldn't be doing that if there gonna blow them. But then again i have a year warrenty? but they blow because of you leaving them on and opening the door to shut them off? instead of turning them off yourself?

yes, i just never turned the lights off because when you open the door it turns the lights off so i didn't really think about it, but i drive a lot so they were always on during the day, Idk i assume that this is the reason the lights blew... only thing i could think of. It's a good thing i keep extra bulbs in my car cause the 1st one blew at night.

It doesn't matter about the car. It's about what bulb the car uses... 9005, 9006, H1, whatever.

Shid's right. The right wattage for our cars is the one that our harness can handle. Can't remember the exact numbers. What I did was change my harnesses out for all 4 headlights(VERY easy). And now it can handle I-forgot-how-much but probably 2 or 3 times as much. That way your bulbs/harness don't burn out. I'm running Nokya somethings. They were god price, I think I got all 4 for like 25 bucks. And the 4 harnesses at Discount Auto Parts were like another 15. So not too bad. The lights looks awesome. White with a little little blue.

If I'm not mistaken, the blue coating on the bulb is needed to achieve the white look. Because in a normal clear bulb, it shows up yellow because that's the filament color. I don't know about those lights but most likely if the glass is clear, the light will be yellow.
