The one on the jump to conclusions mat is the actual word. Yes theres a real word.

To discuss or debate. See Synonyms at broach1.
Law. To plead or argue (a case) in a moot court.

adj.
Subject to debate; arguable: a moot question.

Law. Without legal significance, through having been previously decided or settled.
Of no practical importance; irrelevant.

i never understood that phrase either... I always thought it had something to do with the actual word 'moot' as well, as in "moot point" meaning "an irrelevant point" or something not worth debating. Which oddly is no where near the actual definition posted by Super. The meaning must have changed over the years due to usage.

Legend of m00t

C'mon guys and gals. Its so easy. "m00t!!!" derived from the cheerful expression "w00t!!!" One day, as I was posting, I remember my fellow Wisconsinites and I were fooling around in the Off Topic portion of this site. I posted "w00t!!! from Wisconsin." Our cherished member Andason then replied, "More like m00t!!!" From there, our Wisconsinish influence spread the word throughout this website.

Go Wisconsin.

Go vangSTa_celica, Ti, and Andason.

oh, we couldn't forget you

m00torZ

^^^ My new variation.

And just a little bit of Wisconsin background info. As everyone in the united states should thank wisconsin for its great deeds towards to U S of A. As we all know, Wisconsin controls well upto 98% of the cows. Cows make milk and cheese. No cheese means McDonalds couldn 't have Big Macs. Without Big Macs, Jared would have never got Fat. Without Jared being fat, Subway wouldn't of had a comeback. And thus the economy would suffer greatly, and with no Milk means you'd all skip breakfast and cereal companies would die off. No breakfast means Denny's would close. The closed Denny's would be the ideal location for many gangs. The gangs would rise up and take control of the cities. Loss of control of cities, means the country would break into civil war. After civil war starts, Canada would realize this is a prime time to strike, thus making it's way south to create a one canada country. Then we'd all have to learn French. The Chinese would see this as a weakness of North America because we all know the Chinese and the French are mortal enemies. The two great superpowers would create a rocket war and destroy the Earth. So as you can see, without Wisconsin.... the Earth would be destroyed.
