Emergency repairs.. second time already, front lip on veilside kit Options

Now I know that there is at least 50% of the community backing me up on this.. how and why the hell does the front lip of the veilside bumper crack and break at first chance? I mean I had it repaired first time because of my mother who took a speed bump at 45 mph... however this time I ran into a plastic lunch box at 2mph.. my front lip is demolished.. what the... I mean is not there something I can do... I cant be paying 250+ for a new lip time after time...

help!!!!

here is sum advice.....

DON"T LET YOUR MOM DRIVE YOUR CAR IF SHE DOESN"T KNOW HOW

ok now that i have yelled at you

ok go sand down your broken lip
then lay fiberglass over it and reson to patch up what you broke..
now lay a LITTLE bondo down and sand till smooth and even with the rest of the lip

now here is what i TELL EVERYONE who gets this kit to do and hopefully you'll listen to this wisdom

get body filler(bodo) WITH FIBERGLASS HAIRS/STRING IN IT
short hair is best....

now mix that with hardener and lay it inside that bottom lip and put tons of it there alllllllllllllllllllllllll the way from the left to the right side if you hit sum thing you'll get a lil scratch and no shatter

ok so what you said is.. fill up the bumper from the back? I was thining about it before.. but would not that put more weight and stress on the bumper?

Secondly the question is .. can I do it myself. I have no knowledge of fiberglass... I could try.

While we are on the subject do you think I could mold the back bumper to body all by myself?

yes you can do the front its not that hard really

and that amount of body filler won't hurt anything better then busting it up like your doing now and as for the back leave it to a pro if you have questions about a front lip

plyer is right, use fiberglass strand filler. I would recommend shortstrand for the exterior and long strand on the inside. Little can foam sprayed on the inside helps to keep its shape after hitting things.

The best tape on learning how to install kits and do fiberglass repair and molding is called Fiberglass Installation and Repair+Advanced Bodywork and is available at fiberglass video
It taught me alot and I recommend it to everybody. I actually have 2 vcr tapes that have at least 11 videos on them covering everything from making molds, to the above tape, painting, carbon fiber construction. Anybody interested should make me an offer.

ok so i went to home depot and bought the fiberglass material and everything required. I am waiting for a warm day to do my project. If all goes well I might be able to pull this one off.

i've hit a speed bump at 60 mph and didn't do anything not even a lil bump in my suspension but thats a big wide one that isn't very high

The front lip is a piece of cake. I actually fiberglassed my whole thing and gave it a few extra layeres on the backside and i havent had any problems at all. Just repair and reinforce the back it will make your fiberglass stronger.
