I've gone and had an idea, need opinions Options

I finally had the time to pop off the cover for the rear speakers and at first was disheartened at how it is setup. Regardless of what size speakers are put in my idea stays the same. I am thinking of taking the grill and cutting out the center of it so it leaves the speaker exposed. Then taking what is left fillin in the little holes, sanding it smooth, and finally painting it. This would cover up the screws that hold the panel in place and also make it just a simple to take it off if the need should arise.

I will get pics later to illustrate this a bit better (no digital camera atm sorry) but the area that the speakers sits in and what is left of the grill would be painted the same color as whatever my dash inserts will be. I know that the sides of the grill cover will need to be built up a bit but it shouldn't be a major ordeal to do however what I want to know is do any of you think that it would be worth it? Or at least does anyone get what I am talking about?

Could be cool man, especially if you're gonna color coordinate them with your dash. Definately an original idea, maybe you could look into coating them with plastic rather than filling them as this might acheive a smother finish if you want them to match your dash inserts

after looking at the grills me thinks bondo would work well for the top part but the rest I dunno. Problem right now is it is too cold to do it (snow grrr) but when I get my speakers installed I might ask about it. (most of the places I am looking at do custom work)
