GB: CF License Plate Holders, (Part the License Plate goes on) Options

I'm going to make a sample picture later tonight, but here's one DoGGy made in the CF Hatch Thread.

These will cost roughly $200, and the method of how they will be made is still to be determined.
it will be about $200 if they are pure CF, but cheaper if they are fiberglass molds w/ CF overlay...

I will give a definate price later in time, but expect to pay about $200

made as soon as we have enough definates, and everyone's questions have been answered

and Playr, i already talked to you on aim...yea that would be kewl, but there's quite a few people who im sure dont want to have to relocate their plate...or dont even have another place for it(the veilside kits can house it at the bottom and look good)

What would you do with a filled in plate?

God, its things like that that made the CF hatch useless. No third brakelight, no wiper?

Thank god the only thing people can try and shave off the coupe trunk is the emblem, and even then I dont think they'll get very far.

I'm in, as long as it has a place for a PLATE.

PS: Doggy's gonna be jealous, my car already has a black top, and soon.. hopefully soon.. CF hood, CF trunk and maybe CF plate?

And Shin, i wount be jealous i like this kind of stile, but this is just too extreme for my car... i want it to be like clean JDM ride, so im doing a different things

That's pretty awesome. I've had an idea to wrap those holders in CF before. Kind of reminds me of Mustang GT's, though they aren't CF. But that's not in my budget ATM or I'd get one.

The point for me is that it will give me an advantage at car shows. If our carbon fiber trunk goes through, it will pull the back end together. Carbon fiber is my theme, inside and out. So the more carbon fiber products made for my car, the more emphasized my theme is. While the filled in plate is unique, it's not at all the style I'm looking for.

No added weight for sure, cuz this will be made from FG and CF. It wount be made from stock plastic + fillint the area with another piece of plastic, adding bondo and etc..

And like My94RedCelica said - this will be made just for the guys from the CF hatch tread, to extend the CF theme.

Ok, I didn realize that it was the whole them with the hatch and all, I was just getting confused. I was just lost because I thought the use of carbon-fiber is to reduce weight, when that stock plastic peace weights nothing already. Thanks for clearing that up.

Also when i was saying it might add weight is because when i made my peace with only 3-4 layers, and without bondo on there, it felt like it was a lil heavier.

I'm going to have to make this a Hatchback Only item...
i just sat staring at the pictures for a bit, and the coupes back appears different:




edit: notice the top corners, and the slants that the lights make w/ the piece...the coupes would end up having gaps or something.
