Hey there Celica community, my name is Tuan Duke and I am a rep from SSAUTOCHROME.COM. I am setting this thread topic to find out how many people would like me to setup a gb for header for the 2.2L 5FSE celica. I need at least 30 buyers in order for me to set up this gb. If you are interested then leave a feedback in this thread and I'll keep track of it. Feel free to email if you have any questions. DINHHUYNH@SBCGLOBAL.NET. LOOKING FORWARD TO EXPANDING PERFORMANCE PARTS FOR THE CELICA COMMUNITIES!!! biggrin.gif

We are in the process of determing the price. MOST LIKELY it'll be $300 shipped.

WE ARE CURRENTLY WORKING ON MAKING HEADER FOR THE 1.6L, 1.8L CELICA ALSO.
I THINK THE MOST DEMAND IS THE 2.2L RIGHT? IF YOU ARE 1.6L AND 1.8L CELICA THEN PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF YOU ARE ALSO INTERESTED.

Not sure where you're finding a 1.6L Celica. The 1.8l is the ST. The greatest demand would probably be for the GT's (2.2)

I don't have dyno number, but I sold the same header for the mr2 and got many good feedbacks. The celica gt and the mr2 have the same engine.

Hey guys lets not crowd up this topic with debate and stuff like the other header topics. Tuan is here to make a project for our celicas and thats it. Not to debate and stuff. so behave.

Not being rude...... just trieing to get my headers.

well on that topic on mr2oc.com it says IF THIS GROUP BUYS REACH UP TO 15 BUYERS, WE WILL ALL GET THE HEADERS FOR $250 SHIPPED! . id say if we got 30 people here wanting this, a fair price would be between 225 and 250 shipped . depending on price and dyno gains. i might be interested

The header if 4-1, it's in stainless steel finish. It has the mount for the o2 censor.

Pimped6gen, here the deal man. And im sure im not the only one thinking this.

#1. Tuan works for an actual company. He makes them for a living. And he has products, samples, pictures, for a legit product.

#2. He is making them so they fit the celica.

#3. You were buying from another company and selling them to us for alot more then your price. You were being a silly middle man. Tuan is not a middle man, he is the man.

#4. Get over it, sorry you didnt get to many of us.

HEY TUAN, I WANT 2 OF THEM. ALWAY NICE TO HAVE 1 EXTRA.

So what we up to 4 now.

I would be a FOOL to pass up something like this. I personally would not be interested in a cat-back setup with this, i have just been anticipating the arrival of a header for our cars! For some people a cat-back included would be great. What about a down pipe (from the end of the header to the cat)? Or would this header connect to the cat? If the cat-back is available, is there anyway that some people could get the header and cat, and some just the header? Either way im in:

1. Anub1s -- 2.2L
2. AllTrac96 -- 2.2L
3. Spunky393 -- 2.2L
4. sapperk -- 2.2L (2 pairs)
5. hs2g -- 2.2L
6. Mosaiah -- 2.2L
7. TRD6GC-- 2.2L

Tuan, I would also post this information on Celica.net, and Toyotacelicaonline.com to get the word out. You'll be guaranteed more than you opted for if you hit up those sites as well.

Also, I think a cat-back is a great idea. I'll be seriously considering this setup myself depending on my financial situation. But much thanks all around for approaching our community with your products. smile.gif

He helped us modify one for the celica header and we are in the process of producing more header for the celica community. I am sorry that I don't have any dyno number but I've sold 25 pairs to mr2 owners and they love it. The like the gain in power and their engine sounds a lot meaner. I hope that answers your question.

Sorry to keep posting, but i don't trust things first hand. I learned that building engine's and car's with my father growing up. He just pointed something out to me in that picture. It looks as if the 02 sensor is drilled into one of the single pipes, can you varify this as just me not seeing it right?

As we Toyota fans know, the engine in the mr2 and toyota celice 2.2L is the same 5FSE
engine. Spunky393, I don't doubt your skills and experiences in working with building engines and block components, but my engineering departments are also experienced. The o2 censor is not DRILLED into one of the header pipe, it's WELDED on the bottom of the header flange. If you are not confident with this header, then I don't want to force you into it, I can take ur name off the list if you want.

Yes they are both the same 5sfe but...the degree that the engine sets at is totally different.

Wow, this is insane. Good deal IMO. The only question I'll ask..... I understand the price might be more later, but can I order one in the future, say summertime. I'd like to order now, but I just spent a lot of money on the car and dont have a spare 300 for a while.

Okay please excuse my inexperience with this, but does this replace the catalytic converter at the stock exhaust manifold? Where does this header end? At the catalyitic converter after the down pipe or at the down pipe? If we only use one O2 sensor won't that force the ECU to throw a code? Is this header tuned for maximum output gain?

I appreciate you doing all of this, when exactly do you think they will be ready to ship?

This header will eliminate the cat. The header ends with the b-pipe. Not attaching the second o2 censor will turn on the "engine check" light, just have it reset. The max output of the gain will be at 3500-5000. Keep in mind that your engine will sound alot meaner!!!!

I'll notify you when we are ready to ship it.

Well, I just hope it actually fits on the Celica 5sfe (same engine yes, different mounts) and that the bottom (which we have yet to see pictures of) is nicely done- since it sounds like you're taaking mr2 headers and modifying them?

yes, i'll fit. We reshaped the header flange and increase the length in the b-pipe.

Hey guys

I am Ivan the guy who made the first modified header for the celica, at the moment is it on my friends 98 celica gt, the top end is a noticible diffrence and it dropped his 1/4 mile a little bit.

If any of you guys have a question please ask.

The header ends before the secondary cat on the obd2.

for the obd2 there are 2 locations for the o2 sensors, and my friends celicas engine light has not come on yet from eliminating the primary car.

If you guys need more pictures i will be more then happy to take a couple and show you all.

As we Toyota fans know, the engine in the mr2 and toyota celice 2.2L is the same 5FSE
engine. Spunky393, I don't doubt your skills and experiences in working with building engines and block components, but my engineering departments are also experienced. No prob. Celica4, i appreciate you giving the 5s-fe 6GC a chance. How are your other posts going on the other sites? what's our list at now? And shouldn't that 2 pair for sapperk be counted as two people? you're looking for 30 sales, not 30 people i hope

Without which, the benefits of a header are questionable.

At least when using 3sge or 3sfe headers from this generation and other generations of celicas, the engine angle is the same and it won't be dragging on the ground like an Mr2 header. it's also usually easier to run new exhaust then change the header itself.

Again tho, I'm not sure how different the exhaust path would have to be from a 3sge or 3sfe.. have to ask 1bwilson..

FYI, bump is just posting something to take this conversation to the top of the list in the forum.

I'm considering joining the group buy. I would like a more definate price, some more pictures (underneith and sides), and a dyno on the guy who's 98 celica your taking the pictures from. I could be down after that.

Another slight concern is that you and ivan both just joined the site here to sell those headers. So the legitimacy is a bit of a concern. (You can through me on the list for now though. Hell, I just won $200 at last week's poker game. Why not)

Not if we can't get 30 people into this. And by the looks of it, its not gonna happen. Thought their were more people waiting to get their hands on these. confused.gif

I hope we don't go back to step one. SOL.

I posted this site on an email that Tuan had replied to me about the headers. I emailed the performance company about headers, and Tuan replied back. So as for him being on the site, its due to me and someone else also posted the site for him.

I admit...it was me. I'm in the same boat. Was interested in their header, and kept asking about Celica 5SFE availability. Was talking with Tuan through email for a while. And he finally came back saying that they could do it.

So I gave him a list of Celica sites that might be interested. Of course 6GC was most important.

Hey this is my Celica that the Header is on. I love it. It surpased even my expectations. When all the fitment work is completed the sound was beautiful and the gains are not yet dyno-proven but I hope to do so soon.
PM me if you have any questions. I don't work for the manufacturer and they are not paying me so I will give you my honest opinion.
And yes it has all of the 02 sensor mounts for even my OBDII '99 Celica.

Damn - just had time to read all the thread for this. You guys are being too hard on this guy. This header was purchased for my friend Ivan's MR2 and we adapted it to my '99 Celica ourselves. It took lots of work but now the work is done. Tuan is going to make production model headers for you guys based on the work we did. The Header will just bolt right on to the block and to the cat. The header is on my car and I dropped .4 seconds off my best time with almost no experience with my new powerband. I can probably drop more once I get re-used to the power my car has. If you want to be rediculous about it - I have the time slips and tons of Toyota drivers in my club who can witness it for you.
This Header has two O2 sensor mounts and will work with all of our GT's regardless of 02 sensor setups. Tuan - you may want to include a plug for the guys who only have one - just a thought. Mine had two 02 sensors - I thought I would get a check engine light when I was only running on one but I didn't and I have been running with both in place for about a month now.
This header is the sh*t. You can trust this guy. I've been part of your community for almost a year now so maybe you can trust me - to a point obviously.
You will love this header!

Tuan - Please call me at (281)300-1961 so I can discuss some stuff with you. I want a catback to match the Header. Thanks for all your help with this. Your service was excellent. (BTW - I'm Ivan's friend - you and I haven't actually spoken before)

I really appreciate you comming through for this celica community. Your honest opinion means alot here!

Good to hear all the support for you, Tuan. Sorry for the doubt, it puts my mind at ease to have some regular members vouch for you. Hopefully we can get this thing going. We only need what, 18 more? If we get closer maybe someone could buy extra and throw em up on ebay?

If not though, how much more would the cost be for a smaller run? Or, BLACKCELICAGT4, how much is it costing to have your's made?
