Yesterday, I started working out. I'm tired of all the BS I've put up with in the last couple of weeks and I decided I'm going to turn this negative energy/attitude into something productive.

I joined a fitness center and have ran the last two days. I ran a mile and a half both days and started to hit the weights as well. Tomorrow I plan on running and swimming for a couple of hours.

I'm tired of women, I'm tired of school, I'm tired of feeling bad about myself and its time to start from scratch!

Hopefully this works out as well as it did for LATINOSMASFINO!

Went you hit the brick wall (as in you're able to keep lifting more and more and more, and then you can't lift any more - as in the weight) make sure you push hard through that stage. It is the worst stage of weight lifting when your body acts like it won't lift another added pound. Keep up the good work, get into heavy crunches (500 a day, running crunches prefered) and keep the running between 3-5 miles, you'll feel great everyday.

a word of advice. do the research and find out what foods to eat, how many days a week to work out etc. a lot of people, myself included, jump headlong into it and waste a lot of time by over-training or not eating right and eventually get discouraged. save yourself the trouble, plan everything out and stick to it.

oh yeah, stay away from the supplements and things like that. Your body get used to the artificial supplements and later on, will only want more of it and also won't take in and use natural supplements. So, just eat a lot of steak, deer meet, elk is highest in protein. Deer and elk meet have no fat. Lots of chicken for the creatine. and GREENS

For example, Lift HARD monday, tuesday, thursday, friday,
and then on Wed. and Sat. go for a loose, easy two mile run, do 50 push ups and 100 crunches, and relax and have a good day. Then sunday, eat healthy and completely relax.

I'd like to think that my eating habits aren't too bad actually..

I drink atleast 5 bottles of water a day (go Aquafina!), I eat only when I'm hungry (that means no snacks) and when I do eat, its generally healthy food (Salads with hardly any dressing, chicken, vegetables, fruits). Tonight for dinner I had Stir-fry which consisted of chicken, water chestnuts, rice, broccoli, celery, carrots, and mushrooms. Oh and 2 big glasses of milk!

John-

As a matter of fact, I do have some recent pictures taken probably a week ago. So in like a month or so, I will post the differences.

It's cool because for the last month or so, I completely cut out drinking pop and eating unhealthy foods. I have this one pair of jeans that I need to have athletic shorts on underneath along with my belt. They're my work jeans so they are pretty nasty but its still a huge improvement already. Drinking pop is one of the worst things I could do to myself! I really noticed a difference in just eliminating pop from my diet.

chicken for the creatine???

FISH has a lot more creatine content than chicken. Fish is probably the best stuff you can eat when you're lifting. Steak can get fatty.

I totally agree, that's the best advice.
Research is key. I started when I was 16 and I had no clue what I was doing.

Since I started eating right and since I made a good routine I've gained 20lbs and I'm now 215lbs (lean, which is 7-9% body fat).

Make sure to get lots of protein to re build muscle tissue and to rest. Sleep is very important!

Do as he said.. When I first started, I worked out hard and didnt eat right, and started feeling sick, from stressing my body to much and not eating right. but its also dif for every one. Keep in mind eating lots of protine for workin out and lifting weights. Also one of the biggist things for me. Do not skip days planned. As In If you have a day planned to work out, do not skipp it, then u might skip another and its a pain to get back in. I do that alot, Il be doing great then one day il skip it then another, then i stop eating right.. then 2 weeks later i feel like ****, and its hard to get back into the deali again. Good Luck

Well I stopped working out when I started working. Just too sore and tired (I get home at 10:45 and get up at 6 am) to work out. I eat less these days so while I may not be learn I stay at a healthy weight and I haven't been one to eat sugary stuff or drink soda since 9th grade. Only tip of advice I can give you is to do a routine you can handle. If you do too much like they said you will eventualy burn yourself out and give up.

as far as doing the low carb diet.. dont do it.. just eat healthy ****, watch out for fatty foods, and just be smart with what you eat.. being in the cooking industry you find out a lot of things that are actually bad for you.. and doing any low carb or 'low' anything diet is bad for you.. your not supposed to cut out a certain nutrient out of your lifestyle.. doing anything like that is bad for you.. dieticians and nutritionists will back just making the right choices in foods and never doing the bandwagon diets like most of america these days just cant help doing..

ok well i think i should post heheh well first of all CONGRADULATIONS for the decision u just made...well wuts ur email man cause ill send u wut i think is the best workout diet plan,....like ghost dogo said u have to do reasearch but i have done it for u just read wut i will send u...too me a while to understand how the process works. i used to be over weight and trust me i tried EVERYTHINGGGGGGG 500 crunches every night pushups lol running miles everyday stupidity lol even ddid slim fast nothing relaly worked man im gonna tell u man ITS ALLLLLLLLLL DIET like 80% is all DIET man the rest is working out correctly follow my instructions this is how i looked like after i did slim fast and ran soo skinny and flabby i hated it was better off fat LOL http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v293/lat...no/IMG_2668.jpg

some basic tips for everyone ( using this i dropped from 179 to 162 and from 20% bodyfat to about 13%) u want to aim for 10-12% anything lower is relaly skinny and anything higher is chubby..

1. CUt down ur carbs no i dont mean do the low carb diet where u almost eliminate it from ur diet but u should make carbs only 30% of ur total intake protein should be 50% and fat 20%
2. EAT 5-6 times a day most of us eat like thsi = maybe breakfast (cereal and milk) then lunch then dinner or even just dinner...BAD VERY BAD reduces our metabolism..our stomach is like a buring fire u must feed it wood every so often to keep it buring if not u have to reignite the fire takes too long
3. NO SODA or JUICE of any kind.
4. LOTS OF WATER for a person of my weirght of 180 its about a gallon of water calculate ur amount using that scale
5 many people choose to eat strict and then pig out on one day i dont reccomend that i would rather have a treat everyday like half cup of low fat ice cream or a choclate piece soemthing like that

umm 15lbs not including water weight do u mean its not water cause that almost impossible LOl in a week no way man u prob just adjusting to the dramatic decrease in calories whihc is very bad..dont do that ur diet should go for 1-2 lbs per week no more otherwise ur just destroyin ur body and ur gonna end up losing lean muscle dissue and end up like a stick with flab evreywhere lol trust me i was there

I know how you can burn 8000 calories a day.

take a 50lbs rucksack, go to 6000ft, during winter, start special forces training 12 hours a day.

Easy you'll lose lots of weight before you know it.

Know a good diet plan to follow for a week? Is chicken from KFC unhealthy? What do you suggest buying for lunch everyday from school?

1. Im eliminateing pop and juice, all milk and water..with water being 90% of what I drink.

What else do you suggest? Im 145-150 lbs and 5'8...very skinny and scrawny and I wanna get in shape.. Im currently 16, almost 17 and just got my license, so Im looking for a nice fitness center to go to.

Thanks

i cut soda... and juices... occasionally drinking a diet soda.. which isn't all that bad (according to the label on the back)... no calories.. fat or carbs... just 35mg of sodium.. I just got tired of drinking something so tasteless (water).. yeah i know soda dehydrates you but.. drink decaffinated stuff not so bad
oh and fruits are high in natural sugars.. so eat lots of vegetables.. and cut back on the fruits

big one was cutting out the alcohol.. or just drinking the low carb Rock Green Light.. 2.5 carbs a bottle.. supposively..

I was going for the weight loss and not the muscle mass ... i lost 25 lbs in two months.. and wore size 36 pants before and wear a 32 now.. running for about 20 mins a day.. situps and pushups.. were included also..

i'm not into the body building.. or muscle mass so
all i know is that i used to weigh 209 @ 5'9".. bleh.. just let myself go (getting outta high school will do it to ya.. you get lazy frown.gif)
but now i'm down to about 178..

I've ran almost everyday (The days I haven't were either because my school/work schedule made it impossible to run and I played racquetball instead)

I feel a lot better so far. I think in about a week, I'll really start to see a difference. I've eaten pretty healthy as well. VERY little pop (maybe one or two cans in the last 2 weeks) and I eat veggies alot. Oh and some meat.

I'm working on it, its been good for me so far.
