ok..ok, i know this may be a spazz question, but i am not a car buff..bikes yes, cars no...on alot of the GT4's i have seen the turbo intercooler has heat resistent tape underneath it, covering the whole of the bottom....why is this? is it something that i need to look at doing?

can someone enlighten me in why this is done?

Yah. The charge cooler sits on the engine block, so if you can insulate that a little more it's a good thing.

Personally, I think ripping the lagging off the underside of the bonnet might well do more good.

so, basically any heat transfered to the intercooler is a bad thing, so i need to look at lagging the underside of the IC...

as for the bit under the bonnet, might have to look at that...u know if u can get an aluminium cover or anything? i cant leave it exposed cos the engine will get piss wet through...remember guys in the UK we dont get much sun....rains alot smile.gif
