Mynzeyes: ok
Mynzeyes: so
Mynzeyes: i called at 1030
Mynzeyes: in the morning
Mynzeyes: and the manager wouldn't come to the phone
Mynzeyes: and said if i wanted to call out, i had to find someone to cover the shift
Mynzeyes: well...there was no one
Mynzeyes: so i called back at like
Mynzeyes: 3
Mynzeyes: and they were too busy, call back later
Mynzeyes: 330, too busy, won't talk to me
Mynzeyes: 4 o'clock, the kitchen manager gets on the phone, and is like, come in.
Mynzeyes: i'm like...no...you don't understand, yadda yadda
Mynzeyes: so she gives me a 'tude
Mynzeyes: and i'm like, get andrea (gm)
Mynzeyes: so, i'm on hold for 10mins
Mynzeyes: i hang up, call back
Mynzeyes: talk to a host, i tell him to get a manager other than julie (kitchen manager)
Mynzeyes: i hear her (julie) in teh background, saying, 'tell him to just come on in"
Mynzeyes: so...none of the other managers will come to the phone
Mynzeyes: they're just like, tell him to come in, we're not coming tot he phone
Mynzeyes: ...so i get PISSED
Mynzeyes: i go in about 30mins late
Mynzeyes: and i'm coughing
Mynzeyes: and my throat is *mess*ed up, and i can barely talk to customers.
Mynzeyes: and i'm sore, tired, etc.
Mynzeyes: and andrea (the general manager) is in the back
Mynzeyes: telling everyone that i'm playing it up
Mynzeyes: and that it's allergies
Mynzeyes: and i'm just trying to get out of being at work
Mynzeyes: keep in mind, she NEVER talked to me. she wouldn't come to the phone
Mynzeyes: so...
Mynzeyes: that goes on for a while, and everyone is telling me that she's back there spreading her propaganda.
Mynzeyes: about what SHE thinks.
sa00: damn
Mynzeyes: so she comes up to the front
Mynzeyes: and i say
Mynzeyes: andrea...stop talkin crap in the back about me, because you don't know what it is. it's not allergies, and i don't appreciate it.
Mynzeyes: and she gives me a look
sa00: hang on let me read
sa00: lol
Mynzeyes: ok, tell me when you're caught up
sa00: ok
Mynzeyes: k...so...she looks at me
Mynzeyes: and i said
Mynzeyes: no...seriously, it's getting old having people coming up to me telling me what all you're saying, when you don't know anything.
Mynzeyes: and she FLIPS
Mynzeyes: and is like..."i said it in front of everyone, if you have a fever, we don't want you here, but if it's just a sniffy nose, you have to get over it. you don't talk to me that way! get out, you're cut. go home. "
Mynzeyes: so...i left.
Mynzeyes: haha
Mynzeyes: i mean...i really don't think i did anything wrong...
Mynzeyes: she was back there sayin i was playin it up...and it was "allergies".
Mynzeyes: so...i went to the walk-in today
Mynzeyes: and got a dr's note, saying i'm cleared today and tomorrow (v-day...which is a 'required' work day @ red lobster)
Mynzeyes: so...i can't wait til i go back tuesday, and they give me *crap*
Mynzeyes: bc i WON
Mynzeyes: haha
Mynzeyes: anyway
Mynzeyes: so...they'll probably try to fire me, or write me up, or something.
Mynzeyes: then i sue them.
sa00: haha
Mynzeyes: seriously...do you see anything wrong?
Mynzeyes: because...in a way
Mynzeyes: she was harrassing me
Mynzeyes: and slandering me.
Mynzeyes: and i told her to stop
Mynzeyes: that's not wrong is it?
sa00: nope
Mynzeyes: she flipped...and was like
Mynzeyes: you don't talk to me like that!
Mynzeyes: oooooo power trip
Mynzeyes: haha
sa00: see thats what happens at sluff jobs like red lobster
sa00: i remember at old country buffet it was the same thing
Mynzeyes: yeah
Mynzeyes: you stand up to them
Mynzeyes: and they flip
sa00: if you called they ALWAYS though it was cuz u were lying
Mynzeyes: they never did until recently. and they require a note and all that bull*crap*
Mynzeyes: i just thought it's funny...that i showed a backbone
Mynzeyes: and she said i can't talk to her like that
Mynzeyes: this is all after they were being so childish, and not even coming to the phone.
Mynzeyes: so w/e. i hate it
Mynzeyes: it's very frustrating.

i mean SERIOUSLY...i have a 101 temperature...and the dr's don't know what it is. i just know i have hydrocodone and other crap to take...so anyway. they kinda ended up eatin their words and assumptions, as i won't be there tomorrow, and there's NOTHING they can say about it. i just think it's funny, because i stood up...and i won. and they got mad about it.

anyone every go through shxt like this at their jobs? or are my managers just really really shadey?

anyway, reply, tell me if you think i was wrong for standing up to her, and calling her out...i'll be here today and tomorrow...jacked up on meds, and eating chicken soup, and reading. smile.gif.

so..tuesday, i'll go in in the morning, and the first thing i'm going to say is, "there's someone who passed the test, and is available days. i suggest you hire them, and have me out of here, and transfered by the end of the week."

because i requested a while back to be transfered out of there for other reasons...but this just gives me that much more reason.

I had a manager that gave me crap once for closing earlier than everyone else. I could do this because I had been at this job for 2 years. The manager was new and didn't know me. Everyone else just sat out were I worked and goofed off and took up the clock. When it was time to go, I went, and the manager just assumed I was shutting down early. So when he approached me about it, I told him he didn't have the right to say anything to me, and if he thought I was closing early he should come out there and watch me do my job. This was a union job, so he couldn't fire me for saying that. I've been fired a few times for "lack of respect for authority." A lot of these managers are just retards that barley squeezed there way through college or have been working there since they were 16, and they're on some stupid power trip. They need put in their place. I yell at managers every chance I get for giving employees crap (Like when I go to fast food places and stuff). Screw the bastards.

Sorry if this as inappropriate language, tell me if it's bad and I'll fix it. I'm not sure what ya'll consider bad.

it's all good to me man. but yeah. they are lifers at these restaurants. and while you can make a living, it's really a crappy living..because it's full of asskissing and stress...when someone stands up to them, and calls them out, they get flustered and trip out...

I use to have an Assistant GM who yelled at my friend and I at work, so we egged him on a little until he cussed us out. After that we talked to our GM and got some people together and got him fired, he works at TGI Fridays now. Screw her josh, like I said earlier get a fish or a lobster and throw it in her car under her seat or something.

take no ****,
-Brandon

Hey man, now your manager is full of it and I fully agree w/ the comment of "take no ****". But there are ways to deal w/ situations in the work world and in the real world. With work, I'm not saying you handled it wrong, personally, you handled it better than anyone I know would have and at least you ended up going to work. But for the people who have cussed out their bosses and stuff (<--exagerated), you gotta deal w/ it differently because it could affect future employment because they always wanna know why you got fired. But hey, one way or another, I'da probably cussed the I3itch out.

the most "out of line" thing i said was...

"you need to stop talking crap in the back about me."

but yeah, i understand i oculd have handled it differently, but she was being very unprofessional, given her "general manager" position. basically, i just stood up for myself, called her out, asked her to stop, and she got mad and told me that i don't talk to her that way. smile.gif.

-John-

btw...i just took my hydrodocone....waiting for it to kick in...it will be bliss....

all jobs like that are like that, when I worked at fred meyer I stood up to my manegers and even the store director (highest person in the store) and once they saw that I was serious they left me alone and realized I was right, I never got "wrote up" or suspended/fired.

My opinion is in that situation you did exacly what I would have done, sept I would never have gone to work, and called corparate saying there forcing you to go to work sick putting the staff, and coustomers at risk of getting it as well, basicly telling them to shove it, and try and fire me.

You should get a new job as soon as posible, nothing is worth the crap that jobs like that put you though.

I just thought of something that happend to my uncle that I thought was worth sharing. My uncles wife now/girl friend then, was working at Wendies, and she had a manager that was a real pain in the butt. She made her work over all the time and treated her like crap. One day my uncle comes in to pick her up from work and the boss says, "No, you have to work over." Apparently this had happend one too many times because my uncle just really mad. He later comes back, and takes a sledge hammer to her car almost distroying it. Now, the funny part of this is, when the woman found out about the damage to her car, she called the police on her x-husband. Then got a restraining order put up against him. My uncle got away with the hole thing. I feel kinda bad for the ladies husband though. lol
