What manifold and down pipe would be better to use a 3sgte from a celica or an mr2? i would assume a celica.

But seeing as ill have to run custom exhaust can i just run it off of an mr2 and not worry about the way the down pipe points at its end.

i want to use this
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...&category=33742

but its probably for an mr2 even tho it says celica.

ive been thinking about finding a manifold and down pipe that came from a 3sgte that was in a celica but i havnt seen many of those out there. This is why ive been looking at mr2 stuff.

Are the manifold and DP from a celica all track the same as the mr2? i doubt it.

thanks in advanced

It should work fine. As long as you dont have any problems with the hood hitting.

yes its an exhaust manifold that fits a turbo between the manifold and the down pipe.

I doubt it will hit the hood so if the price is still right im might use this.

its either that or a stock manifold and dp from a mr2

The bolt pattern is different on the block.

?? it is? So all the manifolds for 3rd gen 3sgtes are different than 2nd gen 3sgtes (and hence the 5sfe) ?

As far as I know the 2nd gen is a 6 bolt pattern and the 3rd gen is a 7 bolt pattern. Please people correct me if Im wrong.

Well, this might sound extremely stupid, but I count 9 bolts on that manifold- which ones count and which ones don't count? Where's the bolt thats different on the 3rd-2nd gen?

the problem with that tubular manifold is two fold.
#1 if you dont brace it properly, it WILL crack.
#2 its kinda pointless unless your going for 400+whp. wink.gif

Well i gave that tubular set up thinking few days ago and figured for the cost (even if it was lower then normal) i wouldnt really need it for the power id be running. So i decided to go with the stock mani and stock down pipe.

As such just as long as the turbo matches up with the manifold (twinentry and single entry) then a stock 3sgte manifold no mater the gen should go on to my 5sfe right?

or is there more to the story?

you gotta chop the upper corner of the manifold to fit it on the head.

your gonna wanna stick with a gen 2 mainfold from a mr2 or celica same for the turbo..unless you go for a ct-20b wink.gif or a custom setup..

the the 165(1st gen)manifold is for a single entry turbo...the 3rd gen manifold is gonna be extremely hard to find. wink.gif
