ive been thinkin about takin my engine(5sfe)to get it rebuilt...anything i shsould do/be on the look out for so i dont loose horsepower? what about to gain some hp?

lol well a simple rebuild isnt gonna give you hp... so ... since your taking the head off i suggest getting a reuild on it and port and polish it get a 3 angle valve job... maybe oversize your valves...

engine wise- get the crank balanced to 16k rpms... and kinfe edge it as well that will smoothen it out and give you quicker acceration... lighten the flywheel and get the underdrive pulley from onorthodox racing...

First, why are you doing a rebuild, second no you wont lose hp, all your doing is making your engine newer.

its an engine that has 130k miles and NEVER got an oil change...or anything done for that matter

I'm interested in this information also. My 94 GT has 248k miles on it. I have plans for turbo'ing it but I want an engine rebuild first.

smile.gif *thumps up* yea man no it wasnt me i barely had the car for 4 motnhs maybe...and yes the engine is in really bad condition(or so they told me) but it runs like a champ!

so ... how to aproach this rebuild? lol wink.gif buy my own parts and pay to get it done ...or ask for specific parts?

he did say, never had an oil change, they were probably just dumping new oil in as they went
