I've been thinking abotu the GT4 lately. What makes it so great? I mean you cna put the 3rd gen 3s into our celis and have the same power. Is it the fact that it is awd?

Suspension, power, drivetrain... Looks. ^.^

Edit(add): Did you mean GT-Four, or Gran Turismo 4? I'm too tired, and don't feel like thinking. tongue.gif

because high power FWD sucks

i'd take the extra weight of AWD over FWD any day of the week. no point in having power if you cant use every drop of it.

What makes a GT4 so great ---
Having a car that hardly anyone else has, there are only 2 others in the city I live in, I like a car thats unique, scoobie`s etc there are hundreds of them, they are everywhere and nowhere near as nice as the Celica.
The fact that they handle great and really "Goes" when you put yer foot down.
Its my own personal Rally car.
It looks beautiful, I cant ever walk away from it without looking back.

what makes the gt4 so amazing? Beside the fact that it is in alot of video games, and the rarity of the celica. The awd system takes the trophy. But it is not your ordinary mazda awd minivan, it hand good handleing and a powerfull TURBO engine. The gt4 has stunning looks with 4 round head lights which set if off from the crowd. The curves, the lights, the sexiness, an amazing combination that pushes the envelopes of automotive design. How often do you see such a radical design, yet still keep a conservative feel? And the 6th gen look was created to commemorate the first gen celica.

Also not that at around 3100lbs I wouldn't call the gt4 a heavy car. And I have to agree, the car can take on anyone, if not because of power then because of handeling. I am running all-season radials and I was able to keep up w/ other cars on slicks and HP Summer Tires at an AutoX

It's better looking, tighter suspension, AWD, and more power.

It's also going to be better in the snow and other ****ty conditions. Something about a rally car as beautiful as the GT4 is nice. I hear GT4's are a very easy to drive car

a dealership... check the sticky in exterior styling forum for part numbers. back on topic...

why does anyone yearn for any particular car... there a certain features that one is attracted to, and it differs for everyone...

for me it would be like getting my WRX only with a more reliable transmission and a bit of nestalgia getting the meaner version of my previous car... granted if i were able to buy a 2n-... well 3rd car, i dont think even a legalized GT4 would be my first choice. its an excellent car no doubt, but not something id give up what i already have for.

Your best bet is probably a toyota dealers, failing that you could always try to contact Fensport in the UK and see if they will send you one over, if not there are a few places in Japan that will happily send you a gt4 Hood and nose cone.

well .. regardless of me and wantabe88 being only st205 owners in US on this board it is the handling with 4wd thats tops for me..

with my JDM blizzacks my car is glued to snow covered roads .. i drove 60 mph and then in fwd celica i could only go 30 tops and feel safe ..

i don't drive crazy just was testing otut snow tires for grip .. one step down from studded ..

i think it is not just one certain thing but a combo of all the things we like about GT4 that makes it so great ..

FORGMANN, I had no idea that you had an ST205 in the states. Do you have any pictures or specs of your car? Your info doesnt really say where your from or anything about your car, so I'm just curious.

It's the allround package of the GT4 that does it for me. 4WD, good driving position, turbo, looks...... You can drive like 'Miss Daisy around town all day & not many people will know what it is you're driving. Then get it out onto the country B-roads & You'll get from A to B in no time at all. It's not common like your Scoobies & Evo's. they're 10 a penny.

Another point is that Toyota won't be making another road going rally car like this again for a very, very long time. You're buying a part of rallying history.

I love it biggrin.gif .

It's a shame it was never imported into the States so you could have as much fun as I do.

Rich
