I know that when i fisnish my 5sfte project ill be running a 4AN line to feed the ct26 oil and a 12AN for the drain. My question is what the heck does AN stand for and is a diffrence between -4AN and 4AN. I have figured that its the size of the hose but how is it measured????
I plan on running stainless steel braided lines down the road but just to get everything hooked up i want to used rubber hoses. Im pretty sure i can do this with the drain line but can i also do this with the feed line? Ive been planing on running a ct26 but for a time i had thought about a ct20b (ceramic). How much of a diffrence is there in spooling time. I know the stock psi level is diffrent but other then that is the spool time that much diffrent. I figured for 3 times the amount there must be a big diffrence. thanks This post has been edited by urbandork: Mar 30, 2005 - 2:42 AM |

the AN thing is just an old army term that stuck. whatever side an fitting just add /16 on the end, thats the size line.
BTW, you dont want a -4an line for your feed, thats too large. you want a -3an line. you cant buy the fittings to make a 3an line so you need to have one made by www.aptturbo.com its not listed, but they will make you a custom length -3an feed line for around 35$, depending on lenght. my 20" end to end cost me 39 shipped. ![]() dont cheap out on rubber hoses, ecpecially for the feed, thats the lifeblood of your turbo. they'll bite you in the ass in the end. -------------------- Former Team 5SFTE pro member ;)

so whats the deal witht the "-" infront of the number. Does this change anything?
and can n e one explain the diffrence between a ceramic ct26 and a ct20b? And does anyone have any experience with how much faster they spool up then a regular ct26. It must be a lot since the price range is so large. This post has been edited by urbandork: Mar 30, 2005 - 2:52 PM |

the reason the ct-20b is so much more expensive is cause its a more effiecent turbo for the 3s guys, it holds boost till redline for them they say its quite a kick over the 26
the -an thing isnt a big deal either way you list it its the same ![]() This post has been edited by presure2: Mar 30, 2005 - 3:45 PM -------------------- Former Team 5SFTE pro member ;)
