I heard something about the front lip of the 404 kit being 'bolted on' to our cars and that it can be easily taken off in the winter, is this true? if you have the 404 lip can you just remove it come winter thus preventing your car from plowing snow?

anyone know?

Yes if a kit is put on WITHOUT modling them then it is fine. Everything is pretty much reversible.
