leaving work today.. clutch feels funny, can't really explain, then, i get to a stop sign, and i put it in first, start lettin go of the clutch... realize that my pedal stayed on the floor, it didn't come back up with my foot. so i turn off my car, LEAVE it there... (wasn't too happy about that) go to work, call my boyfriend.. he comes, we push my car onto the parking lot, he pulls my pedal back up, starts it, drives it around a bit, says it feels fine. so he drives it home, then we check it out, and my shifter (when i move it around) has a lot more play, and makes like, clicking noises, as if there's a loose metal piece moving around when i move my shifter around. so we're thinking these things: release bearing, clutch linkage (if there's such?), shifter linkages, pressure plate, fluids.... someone must know! people are smart here... thanks guys!

Maybe gearbox oil needs to be refresht. If the car didn't drive for such a long time, the oil gets sticky. Try that first before you do other (expensive) repairs.
Check clutch fluid also, you have a hydraulic clutch. Maybe there's too much moist in it.
(brown color) Or there's nothing left at all.

check the clutch master cylinder, see if it has fluid and try bleeding the air out of it. it may have a bad master cylinder or slave cylinder or a leak inbetween the two. the noise you ar hearing in the gear box is probably because the clutch is not releasing completly, i would bleed the system first and see what happens. as for the play in the shifter i inspect the shifter cables and linkage and make sure nothings loose.

This has absolutly nothing to do with the clutch, it is more than likely the slave cylinder, clutch master cylinder, low clutch fluid, or needs bleeding.

My bad, I didn't read too well, you are totally right. But like I said, clutch fluid. or else slave cilinder indeed.

@gt2nv: I would say its the pressureplate.
