So I'm fitting my 404 sides, and one side I got to fit but the drivers side is being crappy. Anyone have any tips to get this to fit? The problem is, is there is about a 1/2" gap all the way down the side where it is supposed to go into the door sill. The other side I fit it the same way and had no problems getting it to fit.

Also do you guys recommend, putting the kit on the car first then painting it or fitting it, have it painted then putting it on the car?

fit it completely, then paint, then mount.

currently i'm working on my sides as well, i've been using a heat gun to help get rid of the gap its working but not as well i hoped, i got a couple idea's though.

Yea I was using a heat gun until it shorted out and caught fire lol!

Did your sides seem like they were a little to short? Like say about a 1/4" or so? the side I have fitted seemed like it was but the the side that doesnt fit seems like it is just barely long enough.

Hey Rjb23... Yea the heat gun is a good way for the sides skirts to be in a pliable state. Also when sides skirts are too short you can use a file and sand down the vertical end plates. They are usually thick with fiberglass so you can play around with them that way. After they are fitted then the inside corners can be reinforced with extra fiberglass. HOpe this helps. Call me if you have any troubles.
