As some of you know, the original Suspension Techniques front sway bar was badly designed and rubs on the underbody of the car. Several weeks ago, I contacted Suspension Techniques and they agreed to redesign the bar after I told them of the problem. A few weeks later, they had the prototype made and agreed to give one away if someone would come in for a test fit. Soltrain of this site got the test fit and they ended up giving him a front AND rear bar for free and installed for free also. It appears they originally gave him the original bar but that has been replaced with the new bar.

Well, anyway, I got the redesigned front bar installed today and all I can say is WOO HOO. I cannot begin to tell you what a difference having a sway bar that doesnt rub makes. On my very first stoplight, I inadvertently spun my tires because I could launch sooooo cleanly without the annoying rubbing. Obviously, the cornering is outstanding. The biggest difference is not having to baby the car at takeoff and on the corners to avoid the rubbing.

In conclusion, I HIGHLY recommend these bars to folks that want a very nice handling upgrade for $250. Good luck!

Jay.

Yes it is just the front bar that's been redesigned. The people at ST are great - I think they would exchange your bar - call them up and ask.

As for the bar itself - this mod changes the entire car's feel, much tighter, much more responsive. Really really good stuff.

Where can we buy these, and how can we make sure we are getting the redesigned ones?

Are they working out a deal with people that have the old bar ? I'm not spending more money. I'll just send them the defective one.

I bought my suspension techniques anti-sway bars in October of 2003. I don't have any kind of rubbing problems. I cant hear anything at all. I take turns very aggressively and have launched off the line multiple times and havent heard anything. Mine came with polyurethane bushings, did everyone elses??? Maybe thats why mine doesn't rub. Could it be rubbing and i cant hear it or is this "rubbing" very noticeable???????

If you had the problem, you would know it. Count yourself lucky.
