Personally, I think aluminum wings ruin the look of a car - fine if you're driving a race car, but if you're going for style, it makes a hot car turn ugly. Opinions?

I agree a lot of people put wings on ther cars and don't even know what the proper use for a spolier.

you cant just say that aluminum wings will ruin the car. there are alot of aluminum/carbon fiber wings out there with different designs, sizes, decks, heights, etc...
there are also alot of aluminum/CF wings that are ugly but those will normally run about $100-200. keep in mind that you get what you pay for. wings that cost more and are designed by top companies such as APR, JSP, etc.. are designed to work and as well as look good but they will cost from $500-3000. |

If aluminum wings were such great devices, then why do no street legal race cars like the viper or nsx have them? BECAUSE THEY'RE USELESS AS **** IN THE CITY. Let alone on the track unless you take turns at 100mph..

Viper and NSX were desigend not to need them just look at the front of the car and the way the lines form to make the rear of the car. at high speeds those cars just cut through the air. so the produce a lot of downforce to the rear of the cars. now a car like the supra needs a raised spolier cause its' a hatch and the is no down force to the rear of the car. as do the hatch back celicas. the coupes don't need spoliers at any speed cause the trunck acts like a spolier. So it's not for show on some cars it is needed. -------------------- |
