I set the date today, the shops paint both is opening up and I jumped in. My car is going in Monday april 25th, in the morning. I have to work the night before so as soon as i get home, I'm gana strip it donw, put it on a trailer and drive it to the shop, I'm gana save about 400 because I'm taking the bumpers, tail lights, trim mirror and crap off so that they dont have too, and obviously I cant drive it like that.

what there gana do:
- remove my fiberglass thats filling the wing holes, and fill it right (weld it iin)
- smooth up my doors to a perfect surface
- pull my "garage accident" dent out
- fix a few more little rock chips/dents
- go over the whole car and smooth everything else out
- paint under the hood including the hood hinges to match
- re-paint the whole car, end to end top to bottum.

Final price $2700.00

I'm so excited about it, its gana look so nice, and the day I get it back (2 weeks after I drop it off) I'm gana put my kit on (it was painted by the same shop,) my new wheels, jdm tails, side turn signals, and get my intake done and in. Then send it off the the window shop to have it all tinted to the legal limit (I would have it done darker but I know I would have a problem with the cops if I did) also before I drop it I'm gana pull the dash peaces and primer/paint them up nice. I CANT WAIT!

Its gana be the hottest little car in my area, well worth the money thats going/gone into it.

It when into the shop monday and should (I HOPE) be done thursday but i said not to rush it even if it means he will have it longer. (i'm paying a flat price anyway shop time is his problem)

I spent about 4 1/2 hours stripping it, with my repair manual at my side, I took both bumpers off, the tail lights, rear windshild wiper and washer nosel, the antenna, both side mirrors and the trim off the doors , then tosed the tails and both bumpers back with 2 bults each on so i could drive it to the shop, where i was met with the shop owner and several guys ready to get started, (I'm gana get a call friday or saturday about the progress) I miss it already, I hate driving the van to work, but its worth it.

I took pics of it stripped and will post them as soon as i get a chance witch will probibly not be till my weekend (witch starts next monday probilby)

edit: I cant type straight, I need to go to bed (I got home from work not long ago) and have to be at work at 8pm

same color (hence: re-paint), I really like the green, its not like the green 6 gens I have seen around here (much darker and deeper.) I though about black but there are so many people with it, its gana be much better because its all new paint so it will look like it came right out of the show room rather then the 10 years of faded paint it had.

So its done as far as the body work goes, its primed and going into the paint both Fri,

I'm Getting it back MONDAY, SO YAY FOR ME!!! then I have about a day or 2 of work before its all done, I gata install all the junk that I took off and all the new crap. once thats done its back to the shop to get the windows tinted (20% all around)

I'm gana make the new sub box mold, Its going to hold all 3 of my 10's in the frunt side of the trunk (basicly a wedge like design between the back seat, and the trunk floor. (fiberglass with custome wood deviders so each sub has its own chamber.) then maybe start working on my sunroof mold. anyway Its all starting to come together, and I cant wait to drive her again, I hate driving the family van (aka: radio only gas hog/soccer mom.)

Not sure if i would take my car there..the guy who used to own it back in the day was a great painter but horrible business man. Now the guys there are well theyre alright. I take my car to EuroTech. Mark Isral does my stuff. but a whole car being painted by him is like 7 G's...hes one of the best guys around though.

howd u find out about new look?

well cant wait to see it - ull have to bring the car out

QUOTE
Ouch about where ur taking ur car

Dont give me a heart attack, do you know something about that shop that I should know?

I have seen there work, (they fixed my sis's car) it was crazy good. and my dad has had things done there and they always do a great job.

"horrible buisness man" I could not agree more, he does not know how to deal. but I got 5 other estamits as to what I wanted done, and his is about 1k under the next one, and 2.5k under the top estamite, its not the full re-paint that kicked up the price, its the horrific dent I have (its part dent part fold stupid garage was not looking where i was going) plus all the little dings and weilding the 6 wing holes.

the paint is not his own, its from westco, witch I selected before he bought. I know there paint is top quality.

anyway, I hope all goes well.

Ok, Ok, tomarrow morning, it will be ready for pickup tomarrow morning ;(

I was informed at like 3 pm about an incedent that accured invlolving a buffer that burned though the new paint on the frunt bumper (I;m guessing an un-exsperianced worker behind the wheel,) they said it was a very small corner, but non the less it was going back into the both to be fully re-painted as I was being told.

I'm sick and tired of waiting I want it now.... my baby needs me....

Although I was overjoyed today because the launch of "Music Pro 1.1" was a total success, now admin's on my site can get live streaming music though the web (via my site) basicly I maid a web-based player with access to most of my mp3 collection though a user-friendly interface. Not to rub it in that I can now listen to all my music from anywhere in the us withough ever burning a cd.

BlinkyxMunkey - yep, there great.

I love the color, its not a common celica color, all i see around here is black, gray, or red, I would not trade that color for any other I like it so much.

Its not the same color, technicly it is but because the old color was not taken care of and since it was like 10 years old, its the factoy paint code however.

Thanks for the complaments peeps.

Update:
today It went into the shop again, for 3 hours. I had it tinted (20%) cough **no legal** cough but 35% might as well be clear, anyway it looks great its so dark inside I like it. very well done, it was suppose to only take 2 hours but i guess my back window was really dirty so he scrubbed it all real nice (he does not use harsh chemicals only soap and water with a good scrubbing to protect the surface witch is why it took longer to do) anyway I cant roll the window down for 3 days untill it fully sets witch sux because tomarrow is gana be 80 degrees (but I have AC so its all good) He got the back window done with just one big peace so its perfect and the tint goes all the way to the edges on all the windows as well so there perfect.

I went to Jays Tint & Style, in kirkland (totem lake really) a great small shop that does very good work (not well known) my sis had her civic done there a few years ago and its still perfect. (lifetime garentee just in case though)

anyway I'm happy, plus my 5th gen turn signals are in the mail, and my new push button "pop out" key is too smile.gif I'll post new pics soon.

It was cool, when I picked it up he was saying how "refreshing" it was to do a as fixed up as mine thats not a honda, and talked for a sec about how I want a 5th gen all-trac motor, (he supports that over a turbo)

Jays tint shop is very very well known! i personally took mine to a guy who is only referral based....which reminds me i need to go get mine redone - not cuz he did a bad job (thats not the case at all) but i scratched my back window when trying to move sh!t. I think i wanna go darker if thats even possible. even though a Kirkland cop told me last week that it was too dark already

he does 15% i think too. its yay to dark I think, I want dark but I wana be able to say its legal or close to it. but I dont think its a huge problem cop wise, besides all that matters is if its ilegal, since it probilby already is then going darker is not gana make a diff. (if that makes sence)

Jays tint shop is very very well known!

Really? my sis told me about it but it took me like 30 min to find any info about it on the net (I should offer to make him a website) plus the location does not help. I guess word of mouth is far better for publicity anyway.

I got off work eraly this morning, drove home and got the camera, I just could not let such a perfect looking day go. I went to Cascadia C.C. for the first 2, and then back to my old H.S for a 3rd. (I have a picture in the exact same location that I took about a month after I got my celca. Its cool to see how much things have changed, not to mention how much things have changed since I was in the H.S, its seems like a compleatly diff. life to me.)

It was so funny, when I was taking pics at the collage, a (50ish) couple walked past me, right when the guy got behind me he muttered. "Oh look I can take pictures of my car" in a mocking voice, I almost broke out laughing at his imaturaty, his wife actuay did laugh at me.. I was shocked and confused as to why they said anything at all, yet alone make fun of me. it still makes me laugh a bit.

Edit: and yeah that is the collage rent-a-cops you can see though my window in the 2nd pic, I though they would give me some truble (they have in the past when I have shot there) but they just looked at me for a sec and drove off, like it was no big deal (witch is was not, so there cool)

you car makes me wanna touch myself

um.. thanks? lol

I have 17" wheels with 45 profile tires, I dont know the exact amout its dropped, but its probibly about 1.5 - 2 inches I can go about 2.5 more down but ground and wheel clearance prevent me from doing so. (there is about 1 inch gap from the wheel to the fender (frunt and back.)

plus I want it to have a rally like look, with the thicker tires and little extra clearance (well I think It looks a little more so rally inspired then street.)

fabricate yourself some clear turn signals. the amber and teal doesn't flow if you ask me, but your car is looking sexy as hell. i cant wait to get that kit on my car.
