I 'glassed a gauge and my power window switches into the area where my cigar ligher and power mirror controls used to be. I can probably find pics if you want to see how it looks.

vinny, what you do is remove the panel
then glass from behind like use the stock as a mold then pull it apart glass on the outside of the 1st glassing you did and you make a new panel |

Would fiberglass bond to plastic as well? I want to make a holder to go under the radio to hold 3 gauges and was wondering what would be the best material to try to make it out of.

Fate, the foam didnt melt? usually the foam disengrates because of the heat generated by the fiberglass.

nope suprisingly it didnt, i tried it in a small area first and it was str8.. plus the dash is not fully fiberglass so in a wreck i wouldnt have too much of a problem.. plus i got a 4 point harness.. im not going anywhere hehehe

WHat do u mean not fully fiberglassed?
Btw, did you strip the vinyl, than wrap it with fleece and just resin? |

its not fully fiberglass cuz its a thin layer over the dashboard, not a complete mold of the dashboard... yea the vinyl was stripped and resin was applyed right over the foam.. it sunk in the foam pretty well and is holding up.

I maid fiberglass peaces to replace my dash ones, but they did not turn out, and ended up getting thrown out, also I maid tail light covers out of fiberglass that I eventualy threw out as well for the jdm tails.

DJFate thanks for the answers, only reason im asking is because im having a hard time deciding how i am going to do my door panels, alot of people told me not to go over the foam because it will melt it, and i dont want to strip down the foam and try and recreate the look of the door, i'd rather just fleece over the foam and soak the resin in than sand touch up and paint.
