Hello there,

I got in touch with a guy from BodyKits.org,named Andrew, and I got to talk to him on AIM about a new body-kit for the 6th Generation Celica.

It can be ANY design you want, and we can create it with drawings and such. But, we'll need 10 people to get them made. The first ten will be 750 dollars. They'll need a test-car for about 4 weeks. The test-car will get a free kit. After the first ten, the kits will cost 980 dollars.

Also, they can make custom hoods too. So maybe 10 people would want a USA made GT-Four hood, so it might cut down on shipping costs. Or maybe you'd like to design your own. The price for the hoods is 450 dollars for the first ten.

So, if anyone decides to go with this, the kit and/or hood that is designed MUST be agreed upon by all ten buyers, they can't make two different kits and not have 10 people for them.

I realize that some people don't have kits or many people have the same kits because of the not-so-many american manufacturers/distributors for 6th Generation Celica kits. So, some of you may want this, and some may not. If you don't want to do it, it's ok, because it's your money. I just thought I would try and help out some 6G guys or gals that want a little variety.

So, let's get a little input, people. What do you guys think?

I tried to set this up before. I didn't get much interest so I gave up on the idea. I've got different plans for my car now, but I still think it would be real cool if you could get a new kit made for our cars. Good luck.

The guy went Idle on AIM. So, it'll be a little before I can ask him a question. I'll be sure to ask when he gets back, though. By the way, gh0st_d0g, thanks for the support, maybe it could happen this time.

I was just talking with Shogun on AIM and he brought up the idea that we could get replica/knock-off Extremor or Arising kits. I think they'd sell like hot-cakes, no matter if they are knock-offs.

EDIT: I contacted the guy. And he says, yes, they can make a replica kit. They will need the kit from someone who has it, or they can buy it and add the cost divided onto each kit. Either way, it'd still be less-expensive.

Well, he said they can make replicas/knock-offs. All we need is ten people for each and he can get them made. So, you guys need to decide on what you'd like to get made. It has to be agreeable by everyone that puts their name on the list.

Would the $450 for a hood include shipping in the continental US? I have a feeling that I'm gonna need a different hood or to modify mine if I go with the 4A-GZE swap. wink.gif

Guys. I'm EXTREMELY sorry that I haven't replied to this thread. I haven't been on in a few days due to being at my cousin's house. Anyhow, I'm at school now, so when I get home and most likely get on the computer there, I'll ask him. I'll be sure to keep everyone updated. Also, I appreciate the responses. Coomer, I don't think the price includes Shipping, but I'm not sure. Either way, I think it's still much more cheeper than buying a hood from Japan. Let's keep the thread going. We'll need ten people for each thing.

Ok. I took the moment to make up a small list.

This list is for the people that MIGHT buy an Arisng II kit if we get ten.

1. Sh0gunkid8721
2. Neipas09
3. Phr0z3n664
4. igotta5S-FEturbo
5. FallenHero

We'll need five more people IF these people are certain they'd get one. This list is in no way certain and if you want your name removed, just tell me and I'll do so.

Next up, a list of people that are interested/MIGHT buy theGT-Four Hood:

1. FallenHero
2. K2_Celica
3. Sh0gunkid8721
4. Neipas09
5. presure2
6. duck9483
7. Coomer

So, if all of these people are definitely in, then we'd need 3 more people.

Again, please don't attack me if I put your name on the list. They are in no way final and can be changed. I only put down people who sounded like they were interested.

So, let's try and get ten people, ladies and gentlemen. smile.gif

front and sides of the coupe and hatchback are the same. rear is different, but can be modified by any decent bodyshop.

I updated the list.

Arising II:

1. Sh0gunkid8721
2. Neipas09
3. Phr0z3n664
4. igotta5S-FEturbo
5. FallenHero
6. ToYCeLi8

GT-Four Hood:

1. FallenHero
2. K2_Celica
3. Sh0gunkid8721
4. Neipas09
5. presure2
6. duck9483
7. Coomer
8. ToYCeLi8

Also, 6GC has a parts database. Anyone can go into it at any time and find out if a certain product is applicable to a certain body style of the 6GC (Hatchback, Coupe, Convertible). This kit is for the Hatchback.

Next question, st202gt, the prices were stated in the very first few posts on the first page. 750 for the first ten kits, 980 for the kits after that, and 450 for the hood.

I think we should ask them to make a custom roof spoiler I think people would go for the roof spoiler rather than the bodykit itself. it's probably easier to make and it would cost around $100-$200 which almost anyone can afford.............. I'm down for roof spoiler =)

you can order the roof spolier from booster tuning for just about that much... man it's time Celica's got a new facelift in the U.S. I could give a sh** less about a roof spoiler, when one company already makes a really good one for a cheap price... enough w/ the B.S. and lets get some more people, for that kit, and hood. w00t!

(sorry if I seem obnoxious, or rude, I have just always dreamed about being able to have Arising II kit, and this might be my chance for it to come true tongue.gif )

Any word on pricing yet?

For the quoted question, they are 750 for the first ten kits. 980 a kit after that. The hood costs 450 for the first ten.

I updated the list.

Arising II:

1. Sh0gunkid8721
2. Neipas09
3. Phr0z3n664
4. igotta5S-FEturbo
5. FallenHero
6. OCU_Celi
7. badica95

GT-Four Hood:

1. FallenHero
2. K2_Celica
3. Sh0gunkid8721
4. Neipas09
5. presure2
6. duck9483
7. Coomer
8. OCU_Celi

A few things: Remember that we'll have to locate someone willing to let us BORROW their kit in order to do this. Either that, or the 2K-3K(K=thousand) cost for the kit will be divided among all the buyers.

Second, they'll need a test car, and the test car gets the first kit and gets it for free. From what I can tell on their site is that they're located in Walnut CA, 91788.

Shipping is 130 bucks to any business address. I'm guessing that means in the continental US. But, I could be wrong, I'll contact Andrew and ask him.

Because one of the guys needing to wait until June (It's not that long away), I'd suggest that the groupbuy wait until June. This just allows more time to get people in on the deal.

how much will it cost if the kit has to be bought when divided among the first ten buyers? 750 + ? , I just need the info so I have the rightr amt of money set aside, cuz right now I have about 1700-1800 set out for suspension and new wheels, and I am about to set aside 750 for the kit, just need to know a close to exact amt, if it's going to be 750, plus price of kit if they have to buy from Varis, and the shipping.

with 10 people if it should be 3k it would add 300 to cost of kit for 1st 10, plus 130 shipping so it would come out to about 1180 total, for 1st ten

keep in mind guys, if u dont find someone who has the kit readily available (you guys probably wont), that ur gonna have to order it from taka-kaira. and these are MADE on order, so it would take 3 months to make the kit, and then shipping time, and then the time it takes to duplicate it, produce it, and ship them out. so.. ur probably looking at... well after summer to get this thing made.

But we should still be able to get the hood done, right. That's the thing I want most.

I had posted that i couldn't afford to buy the kits anymore b/c of sum ticketS (damn cops!), but if the first one is free, its about an hour or less for me to drive to WALNUT. i live in LA. But i have a coupe, the rear bumper would be different. Just say the word and i could check it out as soon as i can. I can actually go tommorrow, Mon., 4-21 or Wedn. 4-23

No, I don't have a Celica yet, I'm only 16. I'm saving for it, but just because I don't have one doesn't mean I can't pull some weight around here and help you guys get a good deal on something that adds variety to the USA made kits.

I think the first thing we should do is try and find someone who has the kit. Does anyone on this site have it? If not, then it probably will be around 1100 bucks to get the kit, however, it is still FAR cheeper than the Japanese kit. And yes, it would be a while to get it done, but that just allows for you guys to save up more money and/or get more people.

Is it going to cost $130 to ship just the hood also?
And is the hood going to have to wait until the end of the summer too?
Thanks

How much does the hood cost if one were to ship it from Japan? I'm not sure on this one, but I doubt it would be over a thousand. Let's say that it would be 500 to buy one from Japan(I think it's more, but I'm not sure), so the 500 bucks would be split between 10 people, meaning an extra 50 on each hood. This makes ten people recieve the hood for about 500 bucks not including shipping. But the shipping would still be cheaper than from Japan, making it a better deal and allowing more people to get it.

I gotta wait to ask Andrew when he comes back on how much the shipping for the hood will be. It would probably be better to wait until Summer, so everyone can recieve their hood and body kit at about the same time.

Where did everyone go?

If you get ten people, Gang's Jail can be yours. Most everyone here wants the Varis Arrising II.

the airsing 2 dosnt match a gt-four hood, the bumber needs the extra bump in the middle for it to llok right... so the extremor kit with a replica gt-four hood would be a better choice if you want both... the bump in the middle makes it look more agresive anyways, atleast IMO...

Yeah, I totally agree with you, Silver. I think this is a good idea, it just depends on the rest of the Celica community.

I would get the hood if it was a replica of the gt-4 hood, but id assume itll get all gayed out by the end cause someone will complain about the extra vents, the bump, etc.

See i was right about the gt-4 replica. Inferno shoot them over some images of it and see what they say. We could get 10 ppl.

of course we'd need to get a gt-4 bumper and hood. Anyone wanna lend us one?

Alright, so, from here out: Say that you're in definitely for a replica hood or whichever kit you want. After people start replying, I'll make up a new list.

Depending on when this all happens, I am very interested and will have the money hopefully by the end of the summer. I can always come up with 450 in a pinch though. Let me know.

If you buy the hood and don't have the bumper, there will be a gap. The front air-dams are different.

well i think instead of making a gt4 hood they should make some sort of different one --- ie predator.

what exactly is a abflug hood, i would possibly be interested depending on looks, I'm not all wild about the gt4 stuff but i do want a different hood w/o having scoops/vents put on aftermarket.

There seems to be like 5 different ideas going around. Now, I know I can't be picky about it cos I don't have one. However, there is no way we'll round up enough people for all of the different options. Just something to think about, people. smile.gif
