I know Japan got power folding mirrors in stock form on some cars. Do any other countries have them in stock form?

i know your trying to do the right thing for your motor, but this is one of those times where you should just trust the guys who have had their swaps for a while and have done a ton of research into this.

lol- well, as far as I know, it was only for JDM spec. cars, BUT im not positive on this one... I would assume a good way to tell would be to look at 5th gen cars- their folding mirros dont have the aerodynamic flow through design- my guess is if their 5th gens had em, the 6th gens would too...

from all of the research I have done, I would have to agree, only the Japan spec Celicas had them. UK guys have heated mirrors and the US has basic.

Australia didn't get them as far as I know. I think NZ may have got them since they do get JDM spec, and probably some European countries too.

Hmm...not what I wanted to hear. tongue.gif

I'm looking into getting my power folding mirrors to work with the factory relay and such, so that a quick pulse triggers them to fold in or out, rather than having to hold a switch to control them.

I was hoping to find someone in an English-speaking country with the power folding mirrors stock with access to a BGB, so they could scan it for me and I could figure out how to get the mirrors to work perfectly with the relay.

I think I'll transfer them to the USDM housings...I haven't messed with them at all though, so I dunno.

Well according to this post the motor has internal limit switches so all you have to do is apply power to the motor and it will close/open then the limit switch will stop the motor. So you wouldn't even need a momentary switch just a standard spdt switch and maybe a couple relays.

if you get 97 or older mirrors from japan they don't need relays. and you have to transfer the guts over to the usdm housing.
