I was looking at the cryogenic intake systems and I was just looking to make my own system. After looking around and thinking for a while I came up with the idea.
I bought a small 70cubic inch carbon fiber compressed air tanks that was converted to hold CO2 from a paintball shop. I am going to mount it somewhere and run lines to either a regulator or a solenoid and then spray at motor. I was thinking initially about spraying it in the intake but after some thought I new it would just choke the motor. So I am going to spray some at the fuel rail and then some at the top 3 inches of the intake tube on my Injen intake. I am just posting to give the rest of you some ideas and ill keep you posted on how well it goes. Even if it is not huge it will still keep the intake cold at the track wink.gif and will look cool when working.

Why not just weld a couple small mini refrigerator cooling coils to the intake pipe?? They are small and youd never have to worry about them again. LoL... wink.gif

You could just plumb your freon lines and use a small core inside the intake, kind of like A/C for the motor, lol. You would still be using more horsepower to run the compressor than the gains though.

hes right i tryed a little set up co2 tank with a silnoid plus a cheap NOS nitrous spray nozzle shooting the smallest amount i could and it choked the motor co2 robs air from your motor. I then used it on my intercooler i hooked the line up to two windsheild wash nozzles and put them on a braket point at the intercooler it worked ok but some of the spray got sucked up by my filter on the side of the turbo robbing power so i switched. I had the bottle filled with nitrous and it worked alot better but i think most of the gain was because AGAIN the filter still got some of the spray because almost no matter where you spray it the filter has so much sucking force that it will get some of it. All this is from my trail and error

I have even seen so called 'cheater' kits that spray CO2 to the sides of your car in order to choke out other peoples engines.
Bottom line, blow your money on something more fun... like a short shifter or a cheap radio or something.

(or you could start buying parts for a larger project or two!

just use NO2.

it is just as cooling as co2 and actually gives performance gains.

I've heard of intercooler, intake, and fuel bar CO2 systems, but who would directly spray CO2 into the intake track, if you've ever seen how quick that stuff dissipates by the time it actually got to the combustion chamber it would be warm and expanded forcing all of the oxygen out. If you want somethink safe to spray into the chamber use a water injection system, it stays cool longer, and as long as it is a small (1-2cc) amount it won't cause bog. The amount you use is based on the size of the combustion chamber though.

I looked into buying some pieces today and it would cost too much for what I was looking for. I would rather buy some mods that have "real" results. Ive decided against building it but it is somewhat of a good idea on paper. You would just have to contain it in an area like the real kits.

*I wasnt thinking of spraying into the motor as I know that wont do any good at all*
