this is just plain stupid , my car spun a bearing last october and has been in the shed since while i gathered parts, got set of ross 8.5-1 pistons and rings , renditioned 3sgte rods full gasket set and all the bearings and what nots required and i already had all the turbo stuff installed before it spun a bearing ,, to the point went to machine shop today with another crank {last one was crookeder then a snakes ass] this tim the crank is fine just needs to be ground little, while planing to use 3s rods this is ok . so i thought , they compare the numbers and they say it will take alot of work and the crank wont hold because 0.157 has to come off the crankshaft to fit the rods , which is not even close to what i have been told , so hear lies my problem, they say why not get 3s crank , being the mains are the same and then just have the pin location on the pistons lowered to compinsate for compression , ,will this would have been a good thing to know before i ordered the 600 dollar custom pistons that are scheduled for deliverign tommarow , which are stock locations and just .020 over , peoplw say they are running the 5s crank and 3s rods with no problems but how are the acheving this without spendign 500 bucks for the crank to be ground then heat treated again , i was told by the shop when i orignal went there that it would cost me 50 bucks to have the crank done for the rods now they are talking over 200 and they dont recomend it , will thats it for now sorry for the long post , just needed to say that please give any help and suggestions you can

IF ANYONE SAYS{{ WHY DIDNT YOU JUST SWAP? }} I WILL JUST PLAIN KILL MYSELF

IF I WANTED TO BE LIKE EVERYONE ELSE I WOULD HAVE BOUGHT A 3S LONG TIME AGO IF I WANTED TO BE DIFFERENT I WOULD DO WHAT IT THE WAY I AM

take a look

[
I took a 5s crank to a mic shop down here they told me it was a EZ thing to do I took them the 3s-gte rods & they cut the crank to fit the rods + if you are gonna use a GTE head you should use .20 over 3s-gte pistons

what a headache....well 3sgte rods and pistons in a turbo charged 5sfe shouldhave more torque than a 3sgte considering the extra .2 discplacement
