(Pictures to be added in 1 day)

Me and 2 friends bought a 1988 LeBaron 2.2l turbo sedan for $300 and are going to attempt at making the ultimate sleeper

The car has only 160,000kms but the body is poorly maintained, it has rust everywhere and today we added to the exterior ugliness by bendind the antenna and we're fabricating a rear cardboard spoiler..anyway..

We started the entire project today by stripping the entire interior, and I mean EVERYTHING, the carpet, the seats (except the drivers), the dash, the door panels.. everyhing, even the sun-visors

We are attempting to get into the run in the 13's in the quarter mile and we don't have to worry about keeping the car street legal, infact, we plan on making the exhaust a straight pipe from the header back..the exhaust is already missing from the cat back

I was wondering what you guys think we should do to get a old junker to run a quick quarter mile, the car is as light as it's gonna be right now, and we plan on cutting the front springs to help the car stay front heavy under acceleration because it's FWD, we want to keep the stock turbo for a while, any suggestions on how to make this car fast? Keep in mind we want to go as cheap as possible, and yes, nitrous is being considered..

before anyone asks, we don't care about the tranny, we have a replacement 5spd manual for the current 3spd auto and we are getting some decent tires (used of course)

Cool, sounds like a fun project! I know those turbo Lebarons can be pretty quick.

Anyway, a simple boost controller should allow you to up the boost and get some more power into it. After that it's larger turbo, injectors, and some form of engine management.

Have fun and let us know how it goes smile.gif

So you are going to bypass that turbo by going from the header back with a straight pipe? Sounds contradicting to me.....tongue.gif

Have fun with your 'sleeper', it's always fun to have a project.

I love K cars. My family had a Dodge Aries for 7 years. BTW I saw a video clip of a Plymouth Reliant running a 10 second quarter. But I'm pretty sure it had a 350 or something swapped in and it was RWD. Cool car for a sleeper though. My girlfriend had an 87 Lebaron turbo coupe in high school. It would talk to you like the car in night rider.
