Yelli Celi IS Totalled Options

My car is probably totalled. Last night thieves/vandals got it good. The trunk lid, rear plate bezel, and spoiler are ruined. The rear fenders, doors, and roof are keyed. The driver's side door window is shattered. The interior(dash, driver air bag and door panel, cd player, seats, all center console pieces, carpet) is all cut and torn and broken. My parents and insurance estimated that there's more than enough damage to total it.

Well, they obviously tried to get my entire cd player and amp and sub in the trunk, they just weren't experienced obviously. I think they came trying to get stuff, then got very angry when they couldn't get it and went nuts destroying what they could. It's unfortunate that the airbag they cut didn't explode so I could find a theif with a broken neck in my car today.

The same house where we're now in the double digits as far as different incidents where stuff has been stolen/destroyed. I hate it here. We've all put SO much effort into our cars to get them to where we love them, including you Christian. Theivery/vandalism are some of the lowest acts someone can do. You had a pasion for it. You can still keep the car if it's totaled. You can try to use the money to fix it if you want. Gives you a chance to upgrade if you feel like it. Very sorry to hear about that one Coomer.. I'm reading all these "I crashed my Celi" "I wrecked my Celi" threads and that's one thing.. But this!? It sucks bigtime. Atleast if you are driving around and do some mistake and total it, it is a act you do yourself.. (I guess being hit by another car is more equal to this then, but still)..

Getting up one morning to find something like this.. I wouldn't know what to do.. How much will you get from insurance? From time to time I tell my friends that if this or that happens I would probably be in jail for smashing someones skull or something, and this is probably one of those moments. If the guy who did this came to my knowledge(if it was my car), he would probably be dead. With the maximum jail time of 21 years in Norway (you would probably never sit more than max 10 anyway) some things are actually worth it sometimes

Are you getting a new Celica, Coomer? Or are you getting something else? Like an S2000 maybe?

yup mang, u've heard what i've said about this whole mess. get a new trunk from the junk yard (it'd be cheaper than trying to repair that...), try to buy some interior off some ppl selling parts of there car - and go to the junkyard. get an aftermarket steering wheel + seats. cheaper than goin w/ oem seats, depending if u can find it in junkyard or not.... junk yard will be your friend (+ ebay) till u get to the repaint + window. ooo and there are a couple wrecked celi's in portland, that might help u out... cuz i took some parts off those (only reason why i know)

you can look at it in a positive way. like 1900wattcelica said, you will get more than your $6k asking price unless you decide to try and fix it. its just hard to see something you put so much time and effort into turn to something destroyed overnight. $4200 + $car > $6000, so just try to look at it that way so this situation isnt a complete loss...

He had been trying to sell the Celica for almost a year so I'm not sure he's really in the market for another one.

Thanks for the input guys. I've got several options at this point:

• Part out the car
• Fix the car(just touch up the scratches and fix and paint the rear trunk lid and plate bezel myself) and keep it. No more money would be put into it, and the car would be just my basic daily driver...30 MPG plus a car that's a blast to drive(even if it's ugly.) I've got the window, seats, and some interior parts already from the purple Celi.
• Fix the car and sell it with a salvage title.

Regardless of the money issue, the situation sucks...even at $7,000 I was taking a huge loss on the car, and it hurts to see the car so destroyed after nearly four years of hard work.
