I am on the lookout for a 3SGTE Celica (6th Gen), I live in northern ME and the vehicle MUST not have rust, must run well, and low miles..... I will pay for shipping if the vehicle is a long distance away, or I will be willing to meet half-way if in New England. Please post all modifications, defects or "stuff thats wrong", and a pic please. smile.gif

My point of this post is that I do not have time to do a swap, I'm looking to get a replacement and sell the one I have. If I find a happy alternative, then maybe ill do something different, for now I'm just seeing what is out there and what my best options for getting one are. There is just too much down time involved with the swap and I can not afford to NOT have a vehicle.........so we'll see.

Buy a beater for $500 and then send your car to XAT in fl, they can do it in 2 weeks or so.

I can do it for you, I'm in northern VT. It surely is worth doing since finding a 3SGTE swapped Celica isn't going to be easy at all. I also might be able to help you out with an interim vehicle by then. (I'm booked until the end of Sept or somewhere around there)

There's an automatic '97 ST at my shop right now, the grand total for everything including all the parts, labor, etc, is right around $5000.

You don't have to switch, but you would have to locate an automatic 3SGTE engine set.

If I was going to swap, I'd want the AWD of the ST205 - but I think that swap requires a frame/back chassis extension

how much would it be if the car was already manual?

also what generation 3sgte is included in that price

would the car come back in working order (i.e. ac, and other thigns that sometimes get lost in the swap)

i dont even have a celica right now, but i have always wanted a swap.. so dont worry about time issues cause this would be in the far far future , but im just tryin to get an estimate cause your numbers intrique me

Well now that I know that someone local does the swap I might just wait and do that, sorry Lagos, you have a hella-sweet car and it's very tempting to buy for that much, but its a lot easier to get a 5k loan and be without the swap for 2 weeks..........so I think ill go with the swap.

i know you just decided to do the swap, but if you ever want to buy a 3sgte powered 6th gen, let me know.

Mine is up for sale. Make a good offer and we'll see where we go from there.

It would be $400 less if the car was already manual. That's a 2nd Gen 3SGTE. Everything will be 100% functional (you'll have to get the a/c recharged though, that's not included but I can have it done locally if you like).

As it is I'm booked right though Sept and I have like four people serious about getting swaps done after that, so you have some time to save up smile.gif
