First- I'd paint the posts. The finish on them is not paint, and it would probably be noticeable.
two- how to install them. My spoiler posts didn't come with any tape or rings or anything. They just had the holes in the top to attach to the bottom of the spoiler, and the holes in the bottom to attach to the bumper. What I did- one- mark on the spoiler when the screws need to mount from the posts. Drill holes in those two spots. Once thats done, drop in something to screw things into. I put in lead pieces that expand when a screw is inserted. The other option might be to get the platic clips like the ones used on the front turn signals (unscrew your turn signals. See the plastic square thing they screw into? buy something like that.) Insert whatever you get into the holes. I would then epoxy them, just for additional strength. When the epoxy dries, mount the spoiler post the the spoiler. I would also put silicone around the edges, just to keep water out of the spoiler posts, but its your call. Then, buy some of the foam gasket from the toyota dealer for the spoiler post. Or get some double sided foam from an auto parts store. Or, if you don't plan on taking the spoiler off ever again, you can just use silicone. Then, put the spoiler with the posts back on (once the silicone between the posts and the spoiler has dried.) Then use the foam and re-attach the spoiler posts to the car. If you have any question, PM me. I don't know if this is the "proper" way to do this, but it worked for me. -------------------- ![]() psalm 69 |
