Los Angeles, CA, USA:

Today as I was driving down the same freeway I drive everyday to work I see a flatbed towtruck with a right hand drive Nissan Skyline! Beutiful! also on a trailer there was a very fine candy red Supra, with a very wide racing wing, kinda like in Gran Turismo... Icouldnt get a look in to see what side the drive was on... Both cars had exterior styling (eg hoods, kits, Rims, etc...) and both had very sizable mufflers. Obviously the cars were for some show and had just been imported, atleast thats what I think considering the freeway ends at the los angeles dock.

Previously on the same freeway I saw a brand new Lotus, also on a flatbed, it was going towards beverly hills, prolly a dealer. I see Ferrari's all the time, 911 Turbo's and occasional GT2's. Lamborghini (speeled wrong I think) only at the dealer, which I pass often. Many of those new Mercedes SUV's, the box shaped ones. So many beuatiful cars!

On the topic of Celica's I have seen only 2 hooked up 6th Gen's. One was half silver, half blue (at night going other way, didnt get a real good look) But it Sounded and looked Beuatiful! The other was a totaly Yellow 6th gen, the guy had everything painted yellow, it had a kit and rims, all yellow, even the windshield wipers! I dont know about yellow but it was very nice!

Man I really need to invest some cash into a digital camera...

hehe, its weird reading the words 'rare' and 'skyline' together in one sentence. i live on the gold coast in australia and you can't go 10km's without seeing a skyline. Speaking of i just got home from a cruise with my mate in his R33 and on the way home saw another r33 rolled into a ditch :'(.

We can get them imported over here pretty cheap, my friend imported his himself and it cost him about 18k AUD all up. I was concidering getting one, but insurance is a pain in the a$$ :\.

Yeah, if you ever come to the gold coast, take a trip to the "Broadwater Carpark" on a saturday night. Thousands of cars there, jsut about any jap car you can think of. I'd have to say one of the most amazing sites i've ever seen is at midnight hundreds of these cars travelling up the highway doing rolling drags for miles. Awsome!!

http://www.icegreen33.boostcruising.com/ <---- my friends skyline. Never seen another one in that color, i've seen a 6th gen in a similar colour on these boards, also another one in a car yard around here. His mods include pod filter, front mount intercooler, 3" exhaust and soon electronic boost controller smile.gif Wish it was mine. Did a run tonight, 0-100 in 5.77 seconds smile.gif

Aren't ALL Skyline's in their stock version Right-hand Drive? tongue.gif . Bleah, anyways, it must be awesome to see one. A guy about 15 minutes from my town has a green and yellow Supra Twin Turbo. Very nice.

I live in long beach and drive around alot. I see the higher end porshes every freakin day...I also see vipers everyday...I saw a black R33 Skyline everyday untill the guy who owned the car shop at Cerritos Mall moved his shop somewhere else...I see ferraris every other day (most of them red) I pass by MKIV Supras everyday on the way picking up my bro at his middle school. I see the same yellow Lotus Espirit everytime I go to downtown longbeach and sometimes I see this one lamborghini Diablo.....I'm guessing its a kit car.

i see one every day, it's my friend's. 1993 rt/10 (1992 carry over). i love that car, it just looks really really mean. it is my favorite american car.

as for skylines losing to crx's and a stripped ITR, BS. that integra had to be more than stripped, it would need a turbo, and to turbo an ITR you need to re do all the internals. and a crx, same thing goes for that one. and the second the owner of the skyline turns up the boost, its all over. i got a friend that claims his GSR is faster than a 2002 camaro z28 rolleyes.gif

skyline r34's run 13's stock. and the r33's are a little slower. no chance in hell can a stripped ITR beat one. even bolt-ons wont help an ITR that much, the engine is already maxed out.

skyline vs supra tt, i still cant decide which i like better.

and oh yeah, GO SOCAL!!!!! i see all the good cars but a skyline is by far the rarest(sp?)

It's sad that you guys in the US dont get to see the skylines - I'm almost bored of them the amount there are around here.

As for supra VS skyline they're different cars. Supra would win on straights, skyline around corners. the skyline engine has more potential though.

bmw's and mercedes are as common as honda's here, I see ferrari modena's all the time, just on friday night I was in hollywood and I saw 2 Lamborghinis (doors open, very sweet) 3 or 4 of those boxy mercedes suv's, and countless other cars... I also saw a truck equiped with those keep rollin rims that make it look like there still moving after you stop (featured in MTV's cribs, some going for as much as 10k a wheel) needless to say they are pretty nice.

Everybody has heard of cruising and has probably done it once in their driving life, but cruising down sunset blvd in hollywood has got to be the best place ever to go cruising, there is everything to be seen there.... If your ever in L.A. on a friday or saturday night find sunset blvd and drive down it (from downtown go west, and obviously from the coast go East). Some of the richest people in the U.S. cruise and go to clubs on that street...

i would have to say cruisin down A1A at Daytona beach Florida is the the best place to cruise. Was there for spring break 3 years in a row when i was active duty army in georgia. That was where i met a guy that has a 9.00 sec flat Grand National. bowdown.gif bowdown.gif one of the sweetest cars ive ever seen. he has a 36 psi turbo that ran him $6k and he ran his 9 sec flat on semi street slicks that had 2 slots going down the middle. bowdown.gif bowdown.gif

Vipers, modenas and nsxs are pretty common here, along with any porsche except gt2s... have not seen to many of those here. Ferrari's are actually common (especially modena, it being the cheapest one) I see most of these cars daily, but the skyline was a once in forever sighting, and lambo's are pretty rare unless you pass the dealer in beverly hills... biggrin.gif
