I read in the local paper that the 2006 NSX will be scrapped in the US because it cannot meet the new more strict safety regulations... bye bye NSX.

It's a great car, but seeing how a skilled driver in an MR2 Turbo could keep up it's very overpriced, $40,000 and you have a good deal.

Well if a pro driver was to take an NSX and an MR2 out on a road course, I think the NSX would pull better times. NSX is built to be a track car, not a drag car. Cuz if you did turn the boost up on an MR2, you could very much run with an NSX

You're right but the Turbo also requires skill to drive due to a lack of electronic support. The NSX is great but when a $7,000 (retail) 10 year old used car can run with a $33,000 (retail) 10 year old car it takes away from the glory of having a track car. Also don't forget the new version being a "supercar" only pulls .93 on the skid pad where as the '96 Supra pulls a .94 and even new cost half. Like I said the NSX is a great car and I love the looks, but it's overpriced by about $50,000 (MSRP is close to $90,000).

True about the skidpad. But the nsx has a certain "driver's car" vibe to it. The brakes are nothing to scuff at, driver placement, interior setup for driving expirence, weight distribution, ect.

Is it overpriced? Probably not. Is it worth that much to me? Nah, but I've said it again and again. If you want a supercar for cheap, put an LS1 in an FD. Done. And all for 15-20k. God bless Hinson and Granny.

Yeah but the whole driver's car thing is blurred, a true driver's car is one where the driver controls how the car acts, that is why the Lotus Elise is considered a true driver's car, it doesn't come with anything and you better know what you're doing before flooring it, the NSX has to many goodies so a half experienced driver can drive it like they've been doing it for years, it's the main reason the Evo gets chosen over the STi in comparos, it's more of a driver's car. Now as I said before the NSX is a great car, but it really isn't up to par with cars like the Modena 360, Ford GT, Carrera S, etc. that it is classified with, it's more in the MR2, Elise, and other lower (Elise is expensive but $60,000 is still a lot less than $90,000 and it's a Lotus which is known as an exotic manufacturer, unlike Honda) cost rear engined cars (even I wouldn't diss the NSX by adding Fiero in there, and I feel Hondas are overrated).

My mistake it starts at $43,000 still pricey but not bad, I think there was a euro version that had a Chevy 350, or maybe it was a kit car.

2007 lexus ls600h...its in the new car and driver. all the lexus forums are talking about it. ill see if i can get some pics to post up

here's a quote from car and driver; " A 5.0 liter version of the 350hp, 4.6 liter V-8 from the LS460 paired with a high-output electric motor. Horsepower should reach a healthy 500. continuously variable transmission. $75,000"

i really wanna buy an older nsx, but the resale is amazing on those cars. i love the older body style

Yeah, except for the fact the JDM Supra wasnt exactly as far off compared to the 'NEX as the US version supra we got... NSX is so much more a track ready car than most anything JDM, period. yes, you can make other JDM cars as raw, but you can also take the NSX to a superior level with the green. Let's also not forget that the current NSX hasnt nearly changed as much since 1989 compared to its JDM cousins (last gen supra was 1993, the FIRST R32 was also 89, mitsu diddent even have an evo yet, except the extremely heavy galant rolleyes.gif , mazda was still rocking the FC... Subaru was still 3 years away from the impreza, non 'rexe'd at that... So to knock the NSX for being not as good considering that it's now almost 17 years old... PLEASE... NONE of the competition still rolls in the same chassis, refreshed or not... the car was a straigh up technological force to be reconed with back in 1989 when it was released, even more so from a company like Honda with no credentials... pay respect where its deserved, people

That is where you're confused about my comments then, the NSX is a really good car and other than the Viper it was the only one of it's kind in 1989 (that is when the production Viper debuted it was I think 90, 91 when it was put on sale for a similar price). I could understand asking a lot of money for it then but compared to cars today it doesn't hold up, by all means I would love to see it stay it's the only Honda I care for, but for $90,000 it isn't like it's going to be an option for the normal enthusiast where other cars with very similar ability such as Supra, MR2, Evo, STi, even the M3, and some AMG cars are becoming easier to attain than the NSX and it would make a good historical display piece but i'll save a boatload of money by getting myself one on that list.
