Hey my Celica has been having problems lately....i'm not sure what the issue is. So here's the thing, i went on VACA for a week and didn't drive my baby, but when i got back and tried to start it up it didn't work so i figured someone left a light on. so i get it jump started and i thought it would work fine but i tried starting it without the cables and it didnt work. so i get it jumped again and let it idle for 10 minutes. Then finally i got it started up without the cables. so i bring my brother about 30 mins away somewhere and wait for him to do his thing, start my car and it didnt start up! got it jumped again and then got my battery charged to full power. Thinking that my problem was solved i was just crusing and my car just dies while moving! what the hell is wrong with it? some say it might be the alternator? PLEASE SOMEBODY HELP frown.gif

Assuming you had a guage to confirm that the battery accepted a full charge, the quoted description is a classic sign of a bad alternator.

i know your trying to do the right thing for your motor, but this is one of those times where you should just trust the guys who have had their swaps for a while and have done a ton of research into this.

i think soundslut is right. i once had a bad alternator but it didn't just die on me, the engine would struggle while moving and it felt like my car was going to stall. the problem was that the fuel (being injected electronically) had little or no power and would then slow down til it dies because the battery was practically dead. then another time, the engine suddenly died on the move because the clamp holding the battery down slid and grounded with the negative terminal instantly shutting off the engine.

Wow thanks a lot guys, it was the Batt holder that was hitting the terminals, just for future references how much does a new alternator cost?
