Feeler.... I can have em made really soon!
I have made a few of these for people and i have been getting requests to make more for everyone to be able to buy one.
Would you guys be interested if i made a bunch of them?
I would be selling em for $50 shipped to the 48 states
I can post a pic of what it would look like if you guys are interested in em.
If enought people want one and pay up front i can probably make em for $40 shipped.

A test pipe will basically get rid of the catalitic converter. If you live in a state that has emissions laws and checks to make sure your car had a cat this probably isn't for you. Unless you feel like swapping it back every time you go for a smog check.

Of course there will be SOME gains. Dont expect to get more like 15 hp out of it though. Most bolt ons / hop ups dont really do much by themselves, but when used with other items they begin to make a BIG difference.

Were you drinking a little bit b4 you posted that answer?
This whole post is about how I have been asked by some 6gc members to make this test pipe. Meaning that
"they cound not find the pipe anywhere... so how are you finding one cheaper?"
(a test pipe specifically for the 6g celica!) So.... I am offering to make them for a short time for those people whe want one. Trust me, home depot does not make this item! If home depot has pipe at all it would be for electrical insulation uses on home projects "not for exhausts".
I am posting a pic on my profile so you all know what a test pipe is.
Bloodrain... please go look and realize you are making yourself look kinda silly posting anything dealing with home depot making products for the celica????
biggrin.gif you make me laugh cause i thought you were kidding at first biggrin.gif
Oh well?

I don't think you understand what a test pipe is. It's not just a piece of pipe...it has welded metal plates on the end so it can bolt into a Celica...I can't think of any companies that make them for our car, and I'm sure that if you found one, it'd cost more than this. And DG's work is amazing too.

Is this to replace the manifold cat? Cause that's were mine is on a 94 2.2 GT. If I run low on money, and can't get a header, I'd like to have this if it's what I'm thinking it is.

Akimbo
This is the replacement for the cat under the seat area of the cat.
It will make your exhaust a little louder and give you a few hp.
The testpipe alone will not give you big power, but if you have an intake and exhaust catback system and some other mods it is a nice cheap few extra hp gain.
Bigmeanbulldog55
i thought all celica's had cats in the mani and under the car??
Yours dont have one under the seat area?

I'm having everything removed and just running strate pipe. Only thing I was worried about is the manifold and the manifold cat.

Akimbo - Your cat back system, if designed the same way mine is, bolts up to the rear half of the cat - so this would go right in front of it. If you get it, you should be able to install it.

Just look under your car, straight under the middle or so of the car, and see if you have the cat there.

I currently make the pipe in 2.5"

i can make some 7a ones ...i just need to know the length!!(outside edge of flange from end to end)

i can make 3" ones as well but dont have access to 3" flanges?
you supply correct flanges and i can get the 3" pipe

Would you ever consider making full exhaust systems for the celica? I mean I know you wouldn't be making everything, piecing it all together with the best combonation and all that?

dustin15brown,
i have made full exhaust for the celi already?
it just cost way too much to ship and people dont want to pay the shipping cost.
if you come here and get it.... that is the only way it really seems worth it cause i install it and everything for free if you get me to do it.

Lagos, that is because you did not want to come here and have me do it!
Its really only worth it if you can come here and have me do it right on the car... i would have never said that i could not make you one, just that i really really dont want to do it for you unless you bring your car here.)you did not want to do that or you said you didnt trust your car for the journey yet,,, thats all?)
I dont have a jig made up for the full exhaust so i would have to take mine off and use my car as the jig. I dont want to do that. so if people are willing to bring their car here i can make it.

takes about all day to make it....
cost would be about 500 total for full exhaust with installation
there would be no cat in it!
i am not on the forum every day so expect long delays between my posts on this forum... pm's get to me alot faster cause email notifies me!

slightly, all its doing is removing a cat, cats dont do asmuch as a resonator.

I meant the test pipe playr... and i got it in the mail and got it put on yesterday. I didn't have new gaskets though.. so there's a small leak that im gonna have to get fixed.. but other than that .. it is great. It made my greddy Sp a bit louder and it still sounds great... i highly reccomend this test pipe. Thanks again DG.

Btw.... if i remove my resonator .. will my exhaust sound crappy.. or just alot louder.. because i want the Greddy sp tone.. except about 2x as loud as it is now.. thanks alot! biggrin.gif

i dont have a res in my setup.... i think getting a nice deep tone all depends on the muffler choice with the bigger size piping combo.

pokemeintheeye .... it would save you about $75 if you already had a muffler you wanted to use.
