if its the 95, check your codes by bridging the T1 & TE1 while the ignition is in the on position, but not running. download the BGB from celicatech.com and use that if you need info on how to check the codes, and go from there.

open up your "diagnostics" case under your hood and shove a paperclip in them

its in the "how-to" section on the main page

also, what i found out with mine (1998 gt) is that apparently i cant use this nifty process because i have a odb-ii or something like that

the ECU stored to code, the problem could still there but just not showing or gone. It could of just been a loose connection or an eratic change in driving style. You could reset the ECU (pull the ECU fuse in the bay (or the neg battery terminal) and wait 30 sec, then reconnect) and check to see if the CEL pops up again.

the not getting it into first gear...I have no clue, maybe...loose shifter cables ? tranny oil needs replacing ? shifter assembly was jammed/not lubed ?

My check engine light would come on some days and some days it would be off.
I found out it was a bad o2 sensor in the front.
It was working some times and sometimes it wasnt.
