here are some pics and a vid of my 5sfte 3" exhaust going under the rear suspension. had it like this now for a couple months and NO problems hitting on anything.
:::EDIT 1/09 i made myself a new b-pipe here is a pic of that, VS the old one:

and the rest:

yes, its lowered 1.5"+ on eibach sportlines.
i havent hit yet, not even on the biggest speed bumps.

::EDIT:: 1/09 still running this same exhaust, and i still love it.
still looks great, and still have no problems with it being under axle.

Awesome, I remember asking a while ago, glad to see them up.

What downpipe is that?

Is that crush bent?

youre running straight pipe to the muffler, too, correct? (no cat in DP)

www.berktechnology.com
he no longer makes this style of pipe tho, last i heard he was working on version II of this pipe.
you can call and ask for bryan, hes a cool guy.
the closest thing to this pipe is those crap pipes on ebay. the big diffrence is in the welds, and quality control.
bryan's pipe has immaculate welds, and is of high quality.
the crap ones on ebay are just that, crap.

thanks.
its not overly loud, unless i get on it. its definetly louder than stock, doesnt help that i removed the heat sheilds, they also help deaden the sound in the cabin abit.
but its perfect for me, i didnt want it to be all honking loud, anyway, and its not, its actually pretty tame when your not getting on it, consitering how free flowing it is. smile.gif

I called Berk about 2 weeks ago - they're working on a divorced DP for 3SGTE's, and they said about a month from when I called - ideally, 2-4 weeks until they get some protos out.

I gave them 6GC info, and they said theyre going to try to post here - debut/proto price of around $200

I have my magna flow muffler and i am wanting to get it installed... I know i want to do the compression bent fromt he cat back 2.25" and I'd like to run it under the rear sway bar too! still not have any problems?

and i don't see a resonator... most people on the site said it would sound crappy without one... what do you think i should do?

thanks, still no problems, works perfectly.

theres absolutely nothing in my exhaust path, resonators, cats, nothing. just pipe, and the muffler.
i dont know what the diffrence will be with or without a resonator, i went from totally stock to this. wink.gif

if you take speed bumps slow you wont have a problem....your car lifts up as you go over them. if you go fast then you might have problems. you have about 4 inches of travel in your wheels to play with at speed...

wow.... only 3" to the pipe is low! but if you guys are worried about speed bumps think of it this way. The low part of his exhaust is directly between the rear wheels and will lift up as you drive slowly over the bump, so it should still have a 3" clearance going over the speed bump. The only real problem is road kill or objects sticking up in the road or big ass holes like i got here in PA .....things that both rear tires do not drive over at the same exact time!
smile.gif
Looks nice!

Strate pipe Manny? Rebel. I've got strate pipe as well, but it's not 3inches. Your turbo quiets it down a bit, I think. I would like to see if mine is louder than yours. I'm so afraid to take my baffle out now. It's really loud and I don't want people to get the wrong impression on Imports, or me. And my inspection sticker is 2 months past due. I've got a strate through glass pack looking muffler.

Still passes Houston's super stringent emmissions despite the OBDII at the Toyota dealership though. Still can't figure out why.

Pressure - you're car sounds so beautiful it makes me want to get off my a$$ and install my Turbo stuff. For some reason I think I have cold feet. Probably because my '86 Swap was such a pain in the a$$.

its low, but where the exhaust travels with the chassis, so i just about never scrape. like DG said, if i hit a tire popper, (HUGE pothole ) it gets close..and even then, ive only hit once or twice since ive had it, and thats mostly on dirt roads, not the street.
its really not that loud, except @ WOT.

flex pipe. its so the exhaust system isn't torn in two when the motor flexes.
stops the exhaust system from rattling under the car, thats one reason why exhausts systems are held up with rubber bones that stop vibration also. thats my .02 biggrin.gif

I just bought a Header and High Flow cat.. I am gonna have those installed soon.. but i wanted to know if while i'm there, should I have them re-route my exhaust to go under the axle or is it not really worth it for (NA engine with 2 1/4" exhaust) ?

I just bought a Header and High Flow cat.. I am gonna have those installed soon.. but i wanted to know if while i'm there, should I have them re-route my exhaust to go under the axle or is it not really worth it for (NA engine with 2 1/4" exhaust) ?

dan, that would really just be a matter of prefrence.
your not really gonna see any diffrence in power either way with the 5sfe.
if you were turboing, or doing some serious mods, then i would say you'd prolly be better going under.

does your exhaust kinda gurgle on deceleration like an SRT4 without a resonator?

Ok, from what i understand, To do this u have to cut out the part the bends over the rear suspension and weld a straight piece in to replace the bend. am i missing anything?

he didn't modify the stock exhaust he completely replaced it with a 3" turbo-back exhaust.

it's cool. we all start somewhere. but anyway, it's not an aftermarket exhaust that you can just go buy. He went to an exhaust shop and had them custom make this exhaust. so they took piping and welded it up for him. He decided to have them route it under the rear axle rather than over like the stock does, becuase it's straighter pipe so it gives a better flow, plus it was probably easier for the exhast shop to make.
