gas tank, first half and second half Options

i get about 200 miles on the first half of the tank and then about 100 miles on the last half. i was wondering if it is "HALF" or if it isnt if i always fill up at half tank will i get better gas mileage or will it be the same and the "HALF" is just actually the second third

Half as in the needle moving, or half as in when the E light popped on -- the tank is (for Americans) 15.9 gallons but the light pops on when there's four gallons left. So the first half would be about 8 gallons, the second before the light would be 4 gallons. Half the milage sounds about right.

i was talking about the half needle mark before the light pops on. my light comes on at about 1/4 tank. why is the mileage different on the second (needle)half though. is it worse gas mileage or is the needle halfway mark not halfway in the tank???

The needle halfway mark is not halfway in the tank.

There are approx 16 gallons in the tank. The full half of the gas gauge represents approx 8 gallons. The empty half of the gas gauge represents apx 4 gallons. The light will go on and you will hit E when its on the last 4 gallons, so the celica is set up to lie to you! They make it so that you have to be a complete procrastinator and idiot to run out of gas.

So basically, theres nothing wrong with your gas mileage, its pretty normal.

so after hitting the empty line i still have 4 gallons left. so i dont need to fill up right then i can go another 60 or so miles
