TOO MUCH MONEY FOR THE POOR MAN! LOL I think I agree with Wilson why not jsut go ahead and do the supra lights. YOu would have to have them molded and all but I think you can buy aftermarket altezza for them if you desire and the would be alot cheaper than gettin JDM ones but prob def not after molding. BUT HEY IT WOULD LOOK SWEEEEEEEEEEEEETTTTTTTTTTTT!

That conversion is very unique, but I think I like the Supra tail-light conversion a lot more. I saw a S2000 tail-light conversion on a pink hatch once and the conversion itself looked pretty good.

I heard somewhere that someone paid around $1000 plus paint for the conversion. I'd ask some experienced bodyshops in your area if they can do it and how much it'd cost.

Yeah, If I had a $1000 I'd buy new shocks or rims. I really like the look of the hatchback tails, especially when they're redded out. Those lights at the top of this page are very original though. They remind me of retro-style tail-lights.

Jo, i just got back from HELLA and one bodyshop, and i got some prise list: All convension will cost me about 350$ (with paint and these round LED tail lamps and atc.). So i will go for it.
What about Supra lights convension, no thanks, it looks kind weird to me... i'd rather use civic coupe tail lamps instead of supra...

What about the wiring of the lights. Waht all would you have to do in that department?

It's simple: you just cut all the standart wiring and the start thinking... smile.gif in 1 LED lamp were are 4 wires (2 to LED's and 2 to stop or turn signals) All the LED wires conected togewer will be tail lights, and stop signals will be conected to stop sign.

One LED ring with inside stop or turn signal cost (in HELLA shop) about 40$. So 6 lamps 240$. And in our country body work is kinda cheap. Everything (including painting, paint, form making, filling, primering) will cost me about 100$. So... Is it bad? Or what?

This wouldn't work...
You would have to cut into the trunk lid to make this mod work and after about 3 months of closing your trunk the lights would be cracked.... Body flex is a bitch!

As for the Supra conversion that just looks like crap tucked into the back of a Celica.
Don't get me wrong I love the way a Supra looks... That's why I drive a Celica (poor mans supra).... But I would NEVER put supra lights on a Celica. As for the conversion origanally posted it reminds me of a 1950's ass end.

I think the s2000 conversion has a little potential.

Now the Supra tails are sweet, they definitely look better than the ghetto clear tails 6g owners manufacture themselves (no offence to those who have made them!!). Has anyone taken a different approach to constructing their own?? Mine are still in the process, but so far I have a clear outside shell w/ 4 red, rounded, 80-count LED's displays (they use them on 18 wheelers here) that look quite similar to the Supra's, but they will differ in the fact that they will wrap the rest of the way around. Then I'm going to have clear/white smoked round reflectors on the inside.....((RED-RED-CLEAR-----CLEAR-RED-RED)) with clear amber signals on the outsides. All I really have left is to secure the bulb sockets and make sure there's no loose light scattering. Anybody attempted something similar??

If you just can't break bread for the Supra taillight conversion, or you don't really care for' em, take a gander at this link: http://www.partssystems.com/shop/products....ry_id=LED%20STT. This is just one of the companies that produces LED's for your automotive desires. I'm in the process of doing something quite similar right now as I posted earlier and it's fairly less time consuming and less hassle than the Supra conversion. Also on the positive side, you can customize it however you like. This site has 44-56 count LED displays which are pretty good, but the one's I used are 80 count. Enjoy!!

drool supra tail lights. Hey oreo what kinds of modifications did you have to do to the rear end to get them in.

1000 bucks for the first conversion compared to the supra lights. I would go with the supra lights too. But the only way that i would do that is if i could change the headlights too. That would be tiiiigggght.

My friend matched the supra rear bumper to the trunk lid. Trimmed the lid to fit the lights. Welded plates on each side and strap the bumper to the welded plate. Then he welded plates underneath where the lid was trimmed...to patch the gap. Paid him $600....thats including patching my dings and shaved side markers.
