I have an email into the guy regarding price and lead time. Assuming that the terms are favorable, I will verify fitment issues with him.

how about a few guys get in and buy one set. Take that set make a mold and produce these out of fiberglass.

I'd love to have them, but I like spending 500 on the engine.

I think the skirt is a little lower than the stock front bumper. With extensions or the GT4 bumper, its about the same. However, this is an OEM option side so it would look better than any aftermarket sideskirt without front or rear pieces.

I'd love to get a set but I don't have the money to spare for them right now. If I had a final price and a due date for payment/downpayment I might be able to scrape up some cash for these.

The guy in the UK emailed me back today and the price was 378 pounds ($675) shipped per set for 5 sets. I was quoted $600 for one set last year so something is not right. I emailed him again pointing this out and asking for clarification. If we can't get it down to around $500, I am not going to run the group buy.

To let everyone know, I am working on a solution here that will bring these skirts to the U.S. for UNDER $500 per pair.  We will need a few more buyers though.  This is still in development but the quality should be top notch.  I will release details as they become available.

Good News TRD Skirt Lovers!

Shipping prices from the UK company were unreasonable. Also, the skirts are expensive by themselves. As a result, I contacted our own Doggy a.k.a. Romas of DCW and he has agreed to make these in a group buy IF there is enough interest. Of course, you can expect the quality and fitment that buying from Doggy always means. The preliminary prices are as follows:

5 buyers: $435 per set shipped to your door.
8 buyers: $405 per set shipped to your door.

We will need a deposit of $100 to confirm your interest. The group buy is only guaranteed to be open until we have 5 buyers. If there is continued interest, we may hold it open for a short while longer to get the price down a bit. These prices are subject to change based on how much the originals need to be reworked and how much material will be required. Realistically, a set could cost $35 more or less depending on circumstances. If you are not in the U.S. your price might be more (or less if you are near Romas)

We will need five members for this to work out. Manny, DEF and I are in. That means we need at least two more.

$100 will be due when group buy closes - hopefully within a few weeks. Production and delivery is estimated at 4 weeks from the time we get the original skirts. I do not yet know about their availability so I will have to see. Assuming they are available, time should be under 6 weeks. I will let Romas chime in if he thinks differently. Please realize that all times are estimates based on Doggy's schedule and little information regarding the availability of original skirts.

I got good news on the timing in getting the skirts. There is a one day wait from the supplier. The 5-6 week estimate from the time the group buy closes should be close assuming doggy doesn't have unexpected delays in production.

This is the toughest decision I've had to make in a long time. The skirts are definately hot but I just can't do it. I've got way too many other obligations that are just too important to neglect. Good luck with the GB.

I totally understand wannabe.

These skirts, like my rims, are something that have weighed on me since I decided I wanted to mod the stock parts. Although in both cases the pieces were more than I wanted to spend, I knew I wouldn't be happy until I had my preferred choices despite the fact that there were cheaper alternatives available. Let us know if you change your mind. The group buy will be open for a while longer.

We need one more person for this group buy. When we get that person, I am going to close the group buy and get going on production. Please jump in if you want in. The tentative price for the TRD Skirts is $435 shipped to your door.

Manny, Geph, and K-dash: I have communicated with Romas and he is willing to get this going. With only 4, the estimated price is $445 per set. We can leave the group buy open through production and the price might go lower. We will have to make our deposit $125 to start right now. Please weigh in if you want to go forward now or wait for more people. My vote is we move forward.

I have spoken to Romas and he has indicated that he wants to be paid in a lump sum from the group buy. As such, you will each need to send your deposits to me. You can do this by paypal or money order. If you do it by paypal, you will have to pay the paypal fees because I am not going to absorb them. The paypal fees for the skirts will be $14 total. This should be added to your deposit if this is your preferred method of payment.

Send me a pm with your preferred method of payment. I will then give you either my address or my paypal account information depending on if you want to send a money order or pay by paypal. The deposit amount is $125 by money order sent to my house or $139 by paypal.

The balance will be approximately $325 ($20 off either way depending on production costs) and due once production is complete. If you pay the initial amount by money order, the second installment must be the same way - unless you want me to add paypal fees to the balance). If you pay the initial amount by paypal, no additional paypal fees will be imposed on the balance payment.

The price might drop if others get in in the next several days. Romas will be making a run of these so for anyone considering getting in on this group buy, sooner is better than later. Once the production run is complete, I cannot guarantee that additional sets will be made.

Lets get the downpayment to me within a week to 10 days. I am going to do what I can to prevent this from becoming another "VIS-like" group buy. I need to have cooperation from everyone though.

Haha reasonably cheaply hehe, I like that.

What I am getting at is I wonder if I can get away with just bolting the skirts on and covering up the indent. I actually got a quote for it, and because my dad really swung out hard into one of our ramps mad.gif There was alittle damage to the rocker panel.... I was quoted 800 bucks! I honesly could care less though, I can open the door just fine and it drives like nothing happened. Idk what do you guys think...think I can just get away with covering it up..It looks like the skirt will more than cover it up.

Manny, don't pay until further notice. Romas indicated that he wanted 5 people and was doing us a favor by going to 4. I am not even going to ask him to go to 3 because making the mold for 2 sets of skirts isn't worth his hassle.

Coomer, I have a vision for your car....OEM rear splitters and these babies....

1900Watt Celica....I think the skirt will cover almost all if not all of the damage PLUS....you can be the only cheesehead in the world with these skirts biggrin.gif

These skirts would look absolutely HOT with front splitters - and the height match would be perfect IMO. And, yes, you can pay in full. Should I put you down?

We are back in business fellas. I will need to know whether you want to pay your deposit by money order or paypal. The price is back down to $435 and the deposit is back down to $100 by money order or $114 by paypal. If you pay by paypal, there is no extra paypal fee on the balance. If you pay by money order, you must pay balance by money order unless you are prepared to pay paypal fee on balance.

Remember the prices are only estimates as Doggy has indicated that it may take slightly more or less material. However, he has indicated that it shouldn't be any more than $20 more and could be up to $50 less.

Deposits are due ASAP. Let me know if you want my mailing address (to pay by money order) or paypal address (to pay by paypal) and I will PM you the information.

For those of you that are "thinking" about this, I suggest you get in sooner rather than later because it may be too late.

Pure sideskirt sex coming to the states!

Jeff, PM sent

Matt, PM replied.

Give me a shout Manny.

I want to keep things moving so that this doesn't end up like a VIS group buy.

Guys, I have promises from everyone to have deposits to me this week. When I have all the deposits, I will buy the first pair of skirts from the UK company and arrange for them to be delivered to Romas for Production. I will let Romas post here and say how long production will take. Anyone else who might be interested should say so SOON.

Jay.

Update:

The UK supplier has indicated that he must charge me a 17.5% UK VAT (value added tax) to the skirts that we are purchasing since they will be purchased and picked up in the UK. This increases the price of the original skirts we are buying. Fortunately, we can get this extra cost back.

Romas is having a friend from London deliver the skirts to him. The supplier has indicated that the VAT can be refunded once the skirts leave the country. Apparently, there is a VAT form that must be stamped at the border. I need to know where to get one of these forms so that we can get it to Romas' friend. Any help would be appreciated. I will post a topic in the general section to see if some of our UK friends can help with this form.

I am waiting for Manny's deposit payment to buy the skirts.

I've heard that before... biggrin.gif ...j/k man.

In all seriousness, I need to straighten out this VAT thing and one of the other payments still needs to clear the Ebay check payment process so your tardiness is not really delaying anything at this point anyway.

Update:

I received bank wire information from the vendor today.

There are three things that need to be done before the skirts are ordered.

(1) Confirm VAT tax return procedure (figured it out and have communicated with retailer)

(2) Receive payment from Manny

(3) Confirm receipt of e-check payment from Jeff.

Once these things are done, the skirts will be ordered. The retailer has indicated that he will have the skirts within 2 days. Then, I will work with Romas to have the skirts transported to Lithuania. I am not sure of the timing on this but I will try to find out. After Romas receives them, he has indicated 2-4 weeks for production. Then he will mail them to me and I will mail each of your sets out. It SHOULD be 60-90 days before everyone gets them. Obviously, much of this is beyond my control.

Update:

Good news from Romas guys. He is having a friend pick up the skirts in England and take them to him. He said this should take 2 weeks max. This is less than I had assumed.

Skirts will be purchased very soon.

The UK supplier has not given me his physical address yet despite the fact that I have asked him 3 days in a row. He also has not confirmed for me that he has VAT form 407 and will fill it out for us. Once he does this and I have Manny's deposit, we will order the skirts.

Jeff's e-check payment has cleared.

/update.

Jay.
