I need help. Pads squeak a little so I know they may be a little worn. But when I reverse, I hear this popping sound EVERYTIME I tap the brake pedal. I don't know what it is. I told my friend to reverse slowly for me as I look in the hood and everything seems fine as far as master cylinder and fluid and all that stuff. BTW, I just got a brand new master cylinder about a month ago. So that's not the problem, I think. I saw another post about this and I didn't see a direct answer... I doubt it's my e-brake cable or anything. Well that's it for problem #1...

Now my BIGGER problem and the one I'm more worried about... The other day I was driving home and there was construction on that only street. There were MANY manholes sitting about 1-2 inches off the ground. I have 18" rims and I was rushing home so I kept hitting the manholes. Now I hear something very nasty from my car. I don't even know where it's coming from. I don't know much about cars. It's a big clunk noise. I stopped because I thought I popped a tire and was riding on the rim. That's how bad it sounded. Then I check every tire, everything was fine, the old factory springs look nice. I don't know anything about shocks... Nothing seems to be hanging low and hitting the ground or anything... I really don't know what to do. I can say this basically only happens when the road is uneven. When I'm on a straight flat road, everything seems fine and I don't hear anything. But as soon as the road is a tiny bit higher on one side, you hear that clunk noise.

I've been hearing a very light noise coming from my rear passenger side when I'm slowing down and the car is moving on "D" but I'm not accelerating, or when I'm hauling ass and have been running the engine for a while. It seems to make the noise everytime the tire goes through a full 360 degree turn.

Any help to fix ANY of these problems would be greatly appreciated. If you have the same problem as me, please don't post, I feel like it clutters up the thread a bit. So just help or suggestions please. Thanks a lot guys.

Rear rubber sway bar bushings are known to cause some nasty rear end clunking...

I think I figured it out! I had painted my brake calipers and I guess I didn't tighten the bolt that holds the bracket on the caliper and my caliper's real loose. I'm going to tighten it and see if it goes away. That's what I think is making that noise because the caliper hits the rotor everytime the road gets uneven.
