i had the same problem. actually, mine would start off not braking, and when i push the brake in more, it would start braking softly. i tried bleeding brakes MANY times and it still wouldn't fix the problem so i bought a new master cylinder for $65-$100 and popped that bitch in and it brakes perfectly.

check your local auto parts chain. i got mine at advance discount auto parts. make sure you specify if you have ABS or not because i had to wait an extra week for that. they charged me 65 if i returned the old one or 100 something if you just buy it without returning the old one. i paid to have it installed because i think they had to bleed the actual master cylinder and i dont know how to do that. total parts/labor was $200. toyota wants $204 installed or just for the cylinder??? lol. i wouldnt pay that much money just for the cylinder, unless you're installing it urself... well, even at that, try finding it cheaper, like i said, at the auto chains. you get warranty and all.

ya a warranty of 3 months or pay 300+ for a year warranty. $204 is just the part itself

I think that's what I got, 90-Day warranty(3 months). And I only paid somewhere between 65-100 for the part itself.

Yup, this type of crap happens to the best of us. Lol. Aftermarket always sounds good when it saves you $100-$200 smile.gif
